Found Someone (Leco Fanfiction)

"Leo." Nico said, after he finally found his best friend in bunker nine.

Leo didn't look up. He didn't even move. He had his face in his hands and Nico knew he was crying. Nico sat down next to Leo in the cold, wooden floor and put a hand on his shoulder. He hated seeing Leo cry. Not only because Leo was his best friend but also because Nico was in love with him. It actually hurt Nico when he heard Leo's sobs.

"Leo, what's wrong?" Nico asked. He wanted to make Leo feel better. He wanted to see that breathtaking smile in his lips and hear all those bad jokes that Nico always laughed at for no reason.

A minute passed without a word being spoken. Finally, Leo spoke. "Amanda f-from the Ares ca-cabin said n-no when I asked her out on a date. I even got her these." Leo reached out for a flower vase with a dozen roses. Leo must have been really sad because he threw the flower vase across the room. There was a loud noise and glass shattered everywhere.

"Why am I not enough good for anyone?!" Leo said, now full on sobbing. Nico couldn't stop himself and started crying too. He felt as if someone punched him in the stomach. Seeing Leo like this really hurt Nico.

"L-Leo." Nico said. "You are amazing, smart, and beautiful. There is plenty of people out there that would be delighted to date you" 'Including me,' Nico added in his mind. "Lots of people wouldn't mind giving you a chance."

"Well some people wouldn't even look at me in that way." Leo whispered. Nico wondered who Leo had in mind. He wondered who would ever say no to Leo, he was everything anyone would wish for.

"Who?" Nico asked. If it made Leo happy, Nico was willing to talk to this person and convince them to go on a date with Leo. As much as it hurt Nico to see Leo with someone else, seeing him cry hurt him more.

"There's this... person that I'm..well.. I love them, but I know that...they won't even give me a chance. That's why I haven't even told them how I feel. I try to like other people to forget about them, but I can't. There just.. amazing. There too good for me." Leo said.

Nico felt as if someone and just stabbed him in the heart. Leo loves someone else. A girl that was probably beautiful and not... Nico.

"Leo, I'm sure that whoever they are, they are going to say yes to you. Tell them how you feel, and if they say no you have permission to punch me." Nico said. He was sure that this person wouldn't say no. This person would see Leo's beauty and if they didn't they were... Nico couldn't even think of a word that bad.

"I wouldn't hurt you, Nico." Leo said quietly. "I'm sure they're going to say no. That's why I'll never try."

"That's not the Leo Valdez I know. The Leo I know wouldn't give up. If one of your inventions doesn't work, you always re-do them until you get it right. Don't give up, Leo. Stand up and go tell that person you love them." Nico looked over at Leo who was blushing. Why was he blushing? Nico didn't understand.

"I love you." Leo replied. Nico wasn't sure if he heard right and he didn't want to bring his hopes up. Maybe Leo was practicing his lines to say to the person he loved.

"That's exactly what you should tell them." Nico told Leo. Leo chuckled, a small chuckle but it brought a smile to Nico's face.

"Nico, you foolish boy, I was saying it to you. I love you, Nico di Angelo." Leo responded.

Nico didn't know what to do or what to say. He felt like crying happy tears, but then he would look like a girl. Instead he grabbed Leo by his coat and kissed him. It was a quick kiss but Nico felt those sparks people talk about and those butterflies in his belly. He pulled away and smiled from ear to ear. Leo looked just as happy, but a little confused.

"I love you, too." Nico told him. Leo responded by kissing him again. It was a happy kiss and a little longer than the first one, but it showed the love they felt for each other.
