Being back at home was the best feeling. James and I share a room now, while the other room is an office. It feels so casual that we're a couple now. I mean, the only thing that really changed is where I sleep. We were snuggled up on the couch at the moment. James' thumb gently glided across my thigh. Family Feud was on tv, but I wasn't really watching it. I was too lost in thought. Thoughts about the centers, about the past, but mainly thoughts about the future.
"Something wrong?" James' crisp voice snapped me out of my daydreaming.
"No, just thinking," I said, smiling.
"Thinking about what?" James asked as he leant in and kissed me.
"About everything. The last, our future," he smiled at those last two words.
"How about we take it one day at a time?"
"That sounds nice," I agreed as I rested my head on his shoulder. This is the most relaxed I've been in awhile. Its been a week since the whole incident with the closet.
"Its getting late, Rebs," James said in a fake sleepy voice,"we should go to bed."
"Alright, but on one condition," I said.
"And what is that?"
"Carry me, I'm lazy," I answered, throwing my hands in the air.
"You're such a child," he laughed as he picked me up.
"But, you love it," I teased.
"Thats true," he said as he tossed me onto our bed. I quickly rolled myself into a blanket burrito.
"Goodnight, " I giggled.
"Hey no fair, share that," he laughed, tugging on the blanket.
"Whats the magic word?" I said in a child like voice.
"Pwease?" He asked, mimicking my voice.
I unrolled, "You're lucky you're cute." He stuck his tounge out at me.
"As, shucks," he said as he crawled into bed next to me. We later in silence for awhile, enjoying each others company. I thought about going to bed with the man I love every night, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
