Chapter 16: Refugees

The way back was silent. Me and Aaron didn't talk at all.

We got back, one of the guards opened the gate for us. Aaron went one way and I went the other. I went over to Emmalyn to give her the flower.

"Great! We're so close to getting everything." She said.

Travis was back from finding his stuff. Laurance wasn't back yet.

I was at my house, playing with my dogs, until a guard came in.

"Lady Aphmau. Lord Levin is in the gate. He's hurt." He told me.

"What?" I ran the gate and I saw two carriages, filled with the people from Phoenix Drop.

"Levin, Malachi! What happened?" I asked worried. I opened the gate and everyone came. Everyone from Phoenix Drop.

"Mom." He said. "We got attacked. Phoenix Drop got attacked."

"Oh my Itene. Guards, get them to safety! I screamed at them.

I sat down with Levin and Malachi to talk about what happened.

Levin: We were attacked. The Tu'la empire attacked us.

Aphmau: Oh no. No that is terrible. Did everyone make it?

Malachi: Yes. Everyone manged to escape. Buy Phoenix Drop... Is destroyed.

No. Not again.

Aphmau: WHAT?!

Levin: Yeah. Everything was destroyed. I failed a lord.

He left the room.

Aphmau: Levin! You didn-

Malachi: Let him. When he's mad it's best to just let him alone.

I couldn't believe it. Everything in Phoenix Drop was getting so beautiful.

Aphmau: Well, every single one of you is welcome to stay for as long as you need.

Malachi: Thank you mom. Really, thank you.

Aphmau: Where's Dante?

Malaachi: I don't know. You told your guards to get them safe.

Oh. Right.

I found Dante and Kawaii~Chan. I gave them both a hug.

Aphmau: Are you all okay?

Dante: We're fine Aphmau.

Kawaii~Chan: Aphmau~Senpai! It was horrible! Everything got destroyed.

Aphmau: So I heard.

I checked ok everyone. They were all mostly fine.

Laurance came. I updated him on what happened.

Laurance: What? Is everyone okay?

Aphmau: Yeah, they're mostly fine. I told them they could stay here. But after what I heard, I think they might have live here.

I told Zoey what happened. She was devastated. She was so happy there. She wanted some time alone too so I left her be.

I went back to my puppies. I always go to them when I have bad news.
