The Audition

Chapter 5

Bella's Pov

One by one people auditioned. I was actually very impressed with their talents, but there were some who didn't know what they were doing. You know what happened to them.

The Volturi did have a surprise up their sleeves. They had a machine where you give a drop of your blood and it will tell you everything about that person. For some people it showed their memories and it was like a movie all about them. For others, it showed a picture of them with their name, height, gender, age, and mostly basic things. The only thing that was different about it was it told you how dangerous that person was. It ranked from harmless to lethal.

The Volturi had no control over the machine. It showed what it wanted to show. For example, I don't think the Volturi wanted to see what a whore did in private. Of course the machine showed it and I covered Emily's eyes the entire time. She really wanted to see what was going on but she's way too young for that.

As time went by the numbers lessened and the next thing we knew we were being whisked away to hair, makeup, and costumes. I saw Taylor as we were walking back there and gave her a small smile and wave. We walked to beautiful doors and we came into the room. It was fancy. It was like a dressing room for a Hollywood star.

I did Emily's hair and makeup in silence. Dance gave me the advantage of knowing these things. Other people had no idea how to put make-up on and it was obvious on stage.

I helped her put on her dance costume and I put on mine. Emily looked gorgeous in a plain red dress that had a leotard under it. It came to mid-thigh and her hair was in a bun with a beautiful hair piece to add something that would pop.

My costume was white with some red roses. There was a top with spaghetti straps and it covered up just enough to cover my chest. I had nothing covering my stomach and then there was the skirt that flowed to my mid-thigh. There were roses in a line across the top and the skirt had a red band at the waist. My hair was in one braid on the side that went down my shoulder.

Now it was time for a pep talk because by the look on Emily's face she looked like a deer in headlights. She looked horrified and I couldn't blame her.

Edward's Pov

This whole take over the world thing with the Volturi is ridiculous. Why change everything now? We have lived peacefully with the humans

since the beginning of time. Aro is just a power hungry demon who hides behind his power and craves for more.

I just hope Bella's alright. She's the love of my life. If I hadn't left then I could have protected her from all of this. We watched audition after audition and I had to admit some of these humans were pretty good.

I knew Bella was here when I saw both her parents here, but what really surprised me was she was in the Hawaii group. When I saw the Forks group, I noticed Angela and Ben made it through. Charlie didn't make it and neither did Jessica, Lauren, Mike, Eric, and Tyler. I wasn't surprised about our "friends" from high school getting killed. I kind of expected it. They were either sluts, nerds, or sex hounds. Not the best people to have as a slave.

I saw Renee and Phil get killed as well. It was almost like they were expecting it. I wonder what Bella is going to do for her audition. Maybe cook, but that won't get her far since vampires don't eat.

I saw more and more people audition until I saw Felix escort Bella and a little girl to get ready. My family was watching anxiously as well.

The thing the people didn't know was the vampires installed a camera in the dressing rooms. It showed us what was happening in between auditions. Some of them were pretty funny. There was this one girl who was putting tissues in her bra while she was getting ready. We all started laughing at her when she walked in and she gave us all confused looks. Let's just say she's dead at the moment.
