Chapter One
ObsessedShe was close.
We were barely touching, only by the tips of our noses, but she was close. I could feel heat radiating off her body, along with the urge to wrap her in my arms and grasp her in a protective cuddle. But I remained as I was, lying beside her in this field of wild flowers.
I opened my eyes. She was less than a foot away, appearing to be a sleeping princess. Her long black hair cascaded into the grass and mingled with the daisies, flowing smoothly like a waterfall. Her plump lips held the faint traces of a smile, the smile that I always managed to coax out of her whenever we were together.
I loved being with her. I loved seeing her beautiful face, so close to mine, knowing that we were alone. For this instant, anyways.
Her eyes fluttered open, the deep brown orbs instantly grazing over my face.
"Hey." She simply said, in that enchanting voice of hers.
I moved closer and wrapped my arms around her. She instantly took into the cuddle, resting her head against my chest.
"How'd you sleep?" I asked, moving a hand to stroke her hair.
"Well enough," Her fingers grazed my jawline. "How about you?"
"I didn't. Too busy looking at you." I planted a kiss on her forehead and she giggled, a high sound alike to the tinkling of a bell.
"Ah, Pari," She placed a lazy kiss on my exposed collarbone as thanks. "I don't deserve you."
"I wish I deserved you."
The next few moments are spent in a peaceful silence, broken only by the whistling of the gentle winds. We hardly get the chance to see each other nowadays, but in our rare meetings, we usually spend our time like this; wrapped in each other's arms, enjoying the loving warmth and closeness we give one another.
Suddenly, there's a cold pressure against my stomach. The very tips of Sofia's fingers have wandered under the edge of my tank top, tracing tiny circles on the bare skin. It feels nice and comforting, so I let her keep going, burying my face in her hair. It smells of lavender, a heavenly scent.
I gently press my lips to her neck, showering her beautiful skin in a light flurry of kisses. This entices another giggle from Sofia, and she takes my face in her hands as I move my lips upwards, a glittering smile stretched across her face. We're eye level now, her gentle fingers still grazing my stomach.
"Paarai-" She opens her mouth to speak, but I take the chance to lean forward and trap her lips in a kiss. Sofia gives a cry of surprise and smiles against my lips, leaning away a bit to laugh. As she leans back, I place my arms on her shoulders, the pressure pushing her towards the ground. She giggles as her back hits the ground, her hair splaying around her in a black halo.
Sofia smirks up at me. "Wow, Pari, what's got you so excited?"
"You." I answer, and her face fires up in a light blush. I lean downwards and take her into another kiss, moving to sit on her waist. Sofia props herself up on her elbows to deepen the kiss, using one hand to caress my cheek.
After a few blissful moments, Sofia pulls away, our lips parting with a soft pop.
"Baby girl, I've gotta go."
I frown. "Did I do something?"
She shakes her head. "No, my mom just wants me home before it gets dark." She nods towards the horizon, which is painted with the warm hues of the sunset.
