I decided to skip Christmas Eve because nothing really happened on that day. Thanks.

Christmas Day
I woke up on Christmas Day feeling very cold and worried. It's cold because I forgot to pay the bills because I broke and I'm worried because mum. I was hoping that I could go back to our family and everything will be okay, but that perfect family is beyond my dreams now.
Normally I would have woken up when the darkness was still covering the earth like a blanket but today I woke up to my empty apartment all alone.

Normally I would have woken my parents in a hurry to get downstairs and witness the amazement that is, Christmas. Today I got up and made coffee, looking at my small Christmas tree glow in the corner of my sitting room.
A year ago things were so different from now. I had a family, I took that all for granted. I got up and did my hair and makeup. I glanced over at the stack of presents ready to opened. All had a different owner. They were addressed to,
Brad
Mum
Dad
Tris
Connor
James
Chloe
And that's my list. Yes I'm broke so I didn't get to buy for the other but let's be honest, I'm not that close with them anyways. I know that sounds so harsh but I have to pay for rent and all that shit so you can't really blame me.
Just at that moment I heard a soft knock on my door. I got up to open it and there stood a very handsome young curly haired freak.

"Merry Christmas princess!" Brad hugged me tightly and walked into my apartment.
"What are you doing here?" I smiled,
"You should be with your family!"
I looked at him with a cross mother face.
"I have Christmas with my family every year. This year I wanted to spend it with my favourite girl and her family." He smiled and hugged me for like the third time.

"My so called family is just my mum and me now!"
Brad just kissed my forehead and reassured me that everything was going to be okay by just the touch of a hand.

Brad drove me an hour down the road to my mums. In that hour we talked about music, Lisa, us and many other things. We finally arrived in my hometown, i felt like a child again.

"So this is your hometown? It's nice I can imagine a little baby you running around this area." Brad laughed as he took my hand.
"Yep that's me. Barefoot pigtailed old me." I giggled as we approached my mums.

We finally arrived and as we approached the driveway I saw a familiar face. One that has always been there for me. One that will never let me go. One that I had known all my life.
My mum.
I ran out the car and we hugged for a good 10 minutes. Brad obviously standing there awkwardly trying to find a way to introduce himself.
"Well I'm Brad. Arias boyfriend!" Brad exclaimed holding out a friendly hand for my mum to shake. She did just that.

We all got on very well, I really missed my dog Bessie. She was my world. I guess you could call me a dog person. Mum had Christmas dinner all set out already and we sat down on the table as we stuffed ourselves with food double our size.
I told mum about Dora, the boys and the girls. She listened very intently.
My mum told me about dad, he's doing very well with his girlfriend. I hate that bitch.
I hung out with mum and Brad for about 6 hours until we had to get back on the road again.
"Promise, you will visit more often!" Mum said before giving me a massive hug.
"I promise. I do have school though. But I will visit very often and I'll call you every weekend!" I replied as I started to tear up.

"And Brad, look after her! If you break her I'll break your face!" My mum threatened as she playfully punched his arm.
As we left my old home I realised just how much I missed it.
