“Disclaimer: i don’t own the song Even in Death, Evanescence owns it.”
I was listening to Evanescence’s “Even in Death”, then I had this idea.
She sat quietly at the cold stone floor. The moonlight from the broken roof above her shed some light at the lonely room. She took a deep breath and then sighed. a single tear escaped her eye. Silence enveloped the room other than her quiet sobs. After a moment, she parted her lips and then her sweet, beautiful eerie voice filled the whole place.
Give me a reason to believe that you’re gone
I see your shadow, so I know they’re all wrong
Moonlight in the soft brown Earth
It leads me to where you lay
They took you away from me but now I’m bringing you home
She hugged herself as the cold wind passed by. She stood up and looked at the moon above her. She held her hand up as if trying to grasp something in the air.
I will stay forever here with you my love
The softly spoken words you gave me
Even in death our love goes on
Her tears started to flow freely from her dark eyes. It rolled down her porcelain face. The wind picked up once more, making her long black hair dance for a moment.
Some say I’m crazy for my love, oh, my love
But no bonds can hold me from your side, oh my love
They don’t know you can’t leave me
They don’t hear you singing to me
She fell back once more to the cold floor. Her tears continued to flow freely from her eyes. She walked over to a coffin that was inside the room. With shaking hands, she opened it. She caressed the face of the man who laid inside the coffin, the man she love. Her singing stopped for a moment as she lovingly looked at her lover’s face. She laid her head at his chest as if listening to a heart that was not beating anymore. She took another deep breath before finishing her song.
I will stay forever here with you my love
The softly spoken words you gave me
Even in death our love goes on
And I can’t love you anymore than I do
As her song finished, she lifted her head slowly from her lover’s chest. She took another look at his face, giving a bitter smile. “I love you.” she said in a soft voice. She took a the knife that was lying on the floor beside. She pointed the sharp edge at her heart. Her hands were shaking, she didn’t know if she’ll do it or not. After a while she decided to follow what her heart says, plunging the knife at her heart. The crimson blood started to stain her pristine white dress. She laid her head once more at her lover’s chest. As her eyes started to close she felt the familiar warm arms wrap themselves around her. She smiled wistfully remembering the feeling. Her breathing started to slow down, and with her last breath she said, “I’m home.”
