As I thought, this wasn't a regular good old American barbecue, this was a formal event with a chef cooking on the grill wise waiters hand out appetizers and then eventually dinner. My dad everyone, my dad.
Fin and I were locked away in our rooms, pretending to do our hair and makeup to make him continue to believe we were innocent freshmen. Oh wait, WE'RE SENIORS. Eventually we got our hair and makeup done, Fin looking adorable in a tan floral print dress and some matching tan strappy wedges wise I wore my simple red dress with my crop denim vest to make it a tad more casual, with my black pumps to go with it.
I got texts from everyone, saying that they were here and that the place was already pact. Also some here and there from people who haven't been over saying I lived in a mansion, WHICH I DON'T.
"Ready?" Fin asked, smoothening out the bottom of her dress. "Yup! Let's do this." I smiled, following her out my room. As we walked down my never ending staircase, I saw my dad smiling up at us, talking to what looked like a couple. My hands formed into fists, especially seeing that he was making his way over to us.
"M'lady." West said, offering his arm. I linked our arms together and he walked us away, wise Fin was tightly against Zayn. I missed West. He was dressed in kaki chinos and a tight black fitted button up that showed off his muscles. He looked like a super bad boy too with his raven black hair and gray eyes, plus his eyebrow piercing and lip piercing made it look like he was a rebel. But he was a nerd that secretly wants to go to Yale.
"Sorry, these death stares some of the lawyer daughters are giving me are freaking me out." I whispered to him after I unlinked our arms. "They can't handle all this anyways." He whispered back making the two of us laugh in the quite room causing everyone to stare at us.
Before the humiliation could sink in we were pushed out of the room and into the one next to it where almost everyone was. "We've got Taylor, Whinny, Fin and Marie on the job of flirting up the guys who are on the case now you-" "Who's Marie." I bluntly said to Jett.
"David's girlfriend?" He said as though I was dumb. Meanie. I nodded and he continued on. "So now you have to get whatever you can off your dad wise Harry, Louis, Matt, Zayn, Liam and West flirt up the female lawyers which is a greater sum which is a benefit since there are more guys here. Jack, Will, and Jesse are gonna scope out your parents' room for information wise David, Lucas and I make sure everything plays out right with no one figuring out. Also, to make sure Niall comes on time."
"Oh, so you guys get the easy job, wow." I folded my arms. "Okay, I'll go ask your dad about your boyfriend and your bully, perfect!" Lucas said with pure sarcasm. "I get it, rude! What time and where are we meeting up afterwards?" I sighed.
"We all decided to meet in the game room at ten. Not a minute late, okay? Niall's planned arrival is 10:30 so we can't take a chance." David spoke up. I looked at them and smiled. "We sound like spies, this is actually super cool. We have to have a secret group name, ya know?"
"ESME, GO!" Jett yelled/whispered at me and I stick my tongue out in return as I walked away.
After walking around for awhile, and seeing each of my friend twirling there hair and flexing there muscles, I found my dad out on the porch, talking to even more lawyer friends. Okay Esme, it's daddy's favorite girl time.
I sighed and walked towards them with the most fake smile in history. "Daddy!" I squealed, running up and hugging him tightly. "Princess, I've missed you!" He said sounding a bit tipsy. This is just even better.
"Guys, this is Esme. Esme, this is Bob, Daniel and Riley." He introduced us. He exchanged our hello's before my dad continued on. "Esme honey, Daniel here worked for Georgetown University which as a decent law program and he says he can get you a seat! I'll be right back, you guys talk."
When he disappeared I took a seat next to Bob and crossed my legs because Bob here seems a bit of a perv. "So, what are you guys working on now?" I asked them. "I don't know if we should say." Riley mumbled, sipping a fancy glassed beer.
"Oh, you can trust me!" I lied through my teeth. Hey, they do the same thing! "The Gabrielle Yeltsin case." My dad's voice made me jump as he returned. "You know her, that horrible bully of yours? Your mother's also mentioned you know the boy who's behind her death, Niall Horan?" He continued.
"Uh, yeah...we kinda dated... So how'd you know he did it? I wanna help, I knew he was a bad idea and I just...I really want that butt head behind bars, daddy." I pouted. "Well those old senior kids, now in college of course, they were all questioned and when they were, they all said it was Niall's fault. That he kept her head under water till she went unconscious and threatened those seniors to keep there mouth shut. He did it because she cheated on him and all that teen drama." He explained. God, my dad drunk is like hopping in his brain and finding whatever you want to find.
"Wow, he's crazy! You know what, I can get some more information out of him if you want." I offered. "That would be super helpful, princess." He smiled. "Yay! Well, I'm gonna go find Finley! Love you!" I smiled back as I walked away. I can't believe it was already two minutes to ten. As I rushed through the people, grabbing one or two shrimp on the way, I made my way to the game room. Everyone was there and waiting for I'm guessing Liam and I since we came at the same moment.
"Good, you're actually on time." Matt joked. "Shush! I actually got a lot of info thanks to our drunk dad." I said mostly to Jack, giving him a fist bump. "We all did!" Fin cheered. "So they think Niall drowned her on purpose because of Gaby and Louis." Taylor said first. "He's looking at ten to life! That's insane!" Harry added.
As they shared obvious information about the charges and how they thought it happened, I thought on it. "Okay, our first step to to tell him, duh. Step two should be a sweet visit to those now college students. Step three, break into my dad's office. Step four, get Niall the best lawyer ever and last but not least, put this crap to bed." I said when we all got quite.
"Sounds good." Louis mumbled amongst the other agreements. "It's 10:32, let's go. This is all you Es." Lucas said, making us all start to file out. "Mhm, I got this in the bag." I grinned. Never have I been so rebellious against my parents. First time for everything, huh?
Matt and Louis teamed up (surprise, surprise) to escort Niall in as I waited around with Fin. "You know what you'll do?" She asked right when I spotted Niall. "Now I do." I smiled at him as I took off my heels and handed it over to her before I started to run.
"BABE!" I screamed at the top of my lungs before tackling him. He lifted me up and I wrapped my legs around his waist, my arms snaked around his neck before we kissed. And not just a peck, but a full on kiss, the ones that make my stomach fill with butterflies. I heard "whoo's" definitely from our friends as we literally made out in front of everyone. Finally I pulled away to catch my breath and he released his grip from me.
The unnamed group of ours were crowded around us as my parent's gave a shocked and disgusted glare. Ha, now it has officially begun.
(A/N: 😭😖😫😢😥 did you his see Liam's long tweet :( I feel so bad and I didn't even do anything bad :( he's such a sweetheart and I don't know how it's possible to hate that cupcake!!
