I couldn't believe that after 14 years of being alone, the women who gave birth to me was sitting right in front of me. I was so caught up in the moment, I nearly forgot about the reason I was here to begin with.

"Where did James go?" I asked. My mom carefully put her knitting supplies in a wicker basket that was sitting to the right of her chair. She took a deep breath before looking up at me.

"I didn't mean for any of this to happen. Greg. He seemed like such a nice man, so I went along with his tests," She paused, and picked up the blue tea cup that was sitting on her stand. She took a long sip before continuing, "turns out, he wants your brain for some experiment. He took James to the centers as a form of blackmail."

"What kind of experiment?" I asked curiously.

"I haven't quite figured that out. I managed to hack into their camera system though. Come, I'll show you," she stood up and went to the stairs. I followed her up, and into a pink room I vaguely remember as my own. I looked at my surroundings. There were pictures, and writings all over the walls. Red arrows, and circles covered them, as if someone was piecing together a crime. There were  four computer monitors switching between camera views. I watched as my mom clicked keys on the keyboard, and pulled up a camera angle I didn't see before. I leaned in to get a closer look. There was a man kneeling  on the floor. I watched as he lifted his head towards the camera. It was James. I felt sick. He was bleeding, and his eyes looked full of pain.

"How can I save him?" I cried, "They're going to kill him!!!" The cell door to the room James was in opened, and Greg walked in. Mom turned the volume to the computer all the way up so we could hear what he was saying.

"Looks like your little sweetheart doesn't care about you after all," his voice echoed, "You'd think she'd come after you by now. Last I seen she's home for a visit with mommy. Don't worry, if mom keeps interfering, we can just get her out of the picture too. No biggie." Mom turned off the monitor, and I could tell she was holding back tears.

"How do I get to the CCCA headquarters from here?" I am getting James back, even if I die doing it.
