Alan Rickman, was not only a wonderful actor. He was a wonderful man. He encouraged beginners in the craft of acting, particularly Daniel Radcliffe, Matthew Lewis and the Phelps Twins. He built strong friendships with some of the most amazing actors and actresses of this century. I am sure that people like Ms. Emma Thompson, feel his loss deeply.
Alan, left a legacy that cannot be matched by any other. He wrenched our hearts in how he portrayed characters. Making us weep time and time again. He made us truly feel Colonel Brandon's love for Marianne, just as he showed Snape's unending love for Lily.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and his many, many friends.
Rest in peace, Alan Rickman. You will be sorely and inconsolably missed.
