It been about four hours since I first got into the car with my crazy friends. Sophie was in the front, Charlotte in the driver seat and Bex and I were in the back.

It was the start of summer break and we were heading to California for the annual beach party. The actual party wasn't until the end of summer but until then we were going to make the most of being in Cali.

The Car slowly came to a stop outside a giant metal gate. 'Okay everyone, welcome to paradise!' Charlotte (or Char) said as we looked ahead of us. The house was two stories high and a light creamy colour with a darker roof. Palm trees grew right around the edge of the fence line and the grass was split into two by the driveway.

I let out a long breath as I took in our surroundings. The golden gates slowly started to open and we drove into as Char called it 'paradise'. Once we were at the top of the drive way we got out one by one.

'Sophie you're up.' I said without even turning around because I was still staring right at the house. Sophie took a step forward and pulled a key out of her black handbag.

Everything she did was almost in slow motion but before we knew it we were all sitting on the worlds most comfortable sofas ever. They were set out in a circle and Sophie and I were one one while Char and Bex were lying on the other two.

'So Sophie remind me how you managed to get us such an awesome house for the summer.' I asked and now all eyes were on her. 'Well my mum caught dad with another chick so she told him to go live with her and that she needed some air so she's gone up to Canada with my aunt for the summer.'
'Oh yea that's right and sorry about your dad.' Bex was almost too nice to be in our 'gang' 'Haha don't worry about it he was an asswipe anyway.' Sophie just smiled back.

Before anyone could say another word Char an I had both jumped off of the sofas and we're now looking at the others 'SHOTGUN  THE MASTER BEDROOM' we shouted in unison before everyone bolted for the stairs.

Bex, Char and I were almost at the bedroom and the second we opened the door we all let out defeated groans. 'It helps if you know the house and plus you guys ran straight past it the first time!'  Sophie lay across the bed looking very pleased with herself.

'Don't worry guys I'll show you your rooms, but first who wants up stairs because there it enough for us all to be up here or we can he half and half?' The smile still hadn't left Sophie's face. 'Can we all just stay up here then?' Bex asked as Sophie nodded. 'Well in that case follow me, I knew you all have different favourite colours so I customised the rooms for your fav colours!'

We walked to the end of the hall and on the door in bright pink it said 'Bex' Bex went in with her bags after thanking Sophie. The next room had a green sign that said Char and  the final room had my name in baby blue. I hugged Sophie and thanked her before heading in.

I turned around closing the door an just looking at the door before I finally turned to see the room. I let out a squeal of excitement, the room was painted an almost white cream colour except for one wall which was baby blue and it had a bed pushed up against it. The bed was a queen size and the duvet cover the had a photos of the beach with a sunset. There was a wardrobe on one side of the room and the other side had a book shelf and a desk with a small box wrapped in blue that said 'happy summer, Summers ;)'

I opened the box and inside was a blue laptop case. I couldn't help the smile as it grew into my face and I instantly knew this summer was going to be amazing.

The girls and I agreed earlier that when we were in our rooms we could just go to sleep because it was already almost 10pm and tomorrow was our first official day of summer vacation.
