I got his number after school yesterday. We stayed up all night texting. I've fallen so hard for this guy.

I barely know a thing about him but, I still just can't help being attracted to him. I roll out of bed and slip into some clothes. I make my way to my dresser and grab my phone off the charger. I had two new messages from Evan! My heart races and I smiled. I sat back down onto my bed and unlocked my phone. The messages lit up immediately.

"Hey I need some help, can u pick me up please? Hurry if u get this." The next text was his address. The messages were sent five minutes ago. I frowned and began to panic.

 What happened to him?

Thoughts raced my mind as I began to text back. "What happened? I'm omw" I sat up from my bed, grabbed my bag, and my keys. I stomped out of the door and rushed to my car.

I pulled up to his address and I noticed it was a sketchy part of town. Evan was sitting on his front porch. His bag sat slumped next to him. He sat with his knees against his chest and hands covering his face.

I honked the horn of my car and he looked up suddenly. I noticed his eyes were puffy and red. He picked up his bag and ran down the side walk of his house to my car. He ripped open the car door and slumped into the passenger seat. "Hey what happ-" I was cut off my him grabbing me and hugging me.

"Thank you, for picking me up." He pulled away, "My dad is just, he's- he's tired and couldn't take me to class today. Thank you (y/n)."

I looked into his puffy eyes, and knew something was wrong. "Are you okay?" I say and grab his arm.

"Honestly no" he sighed. "My dad he ju-" at that moment we heard a door slam and a man screaming. We jerked our heads into the direction of the yelling.

The man came out of Evans house and was cursing him to get out of the car. "Just drive, please, like now." He said in a frantic voice. The man ran towards the car. I put the car in drive, and slammed on the gas.

I looked into my rear view mirror and saw the man running behind the car muttering words. When we turned a few blocks I slowed the car down and breathed heavily.

"What the fuck was that? WHO the fuck was that? What was he doing? Why was he screaming at us?" I waited for a response as I made a turn into the high schools parking lot, "Evan?" I turn towards him, and his face is in his hands.

I sigh as I pull into a parking space and turn off the car. I reach out to him and grab his hands away from his face. "Evan..? Why are you crying..?" He has tears running down his face, he turns away from me and looks out the window.

I still have his hands in mine. I squeeze them and ask again, "Evan tell me what happened?" He looks at me, I can see the hurt in his eyes.

"That was my dad. He is just so fucking messed up I- I'm so-." He couldn't even finish his sentence before he burst into tears. He wrapped his arms around me and buried his face into my shoulders.

 Sobbing.
