"Morning sweetie!" my mom said while spreading my curtains apart letting in the beaming light of the morning sun. Today is my first day of my senior year at Lincoln High school. I absolutely hate high school! Too many people who tell me what to do. I am more of a free will kind of girl. All I really do in school is either sleep or write.

"Mom close the curtains!" as I press my hands on my eyes to protect my sensitive eyes to the suns harsh rays. I'm not a morning person, I barely get any sleep at nights cause I'm usually on the roof all night. my house is 2 stories and my room is on top and all I have to do is crawl out of my window. I don't know why I like to be out there. Maybe cause I love being alone and I love to look up at the sky and wonder if I really have soul mate. My mom got divorced to my father when I was 5, seeing what my mom went through with my father was dreadful and I vowed to never end up with a guy like that.

"No sky, I'm not going to put up with this again! Now either you get up or ill get your brother to wake you up!" my mom said in a stern and relentless voice. My brothers way of waking me up is getting a bucket of ice cold water and dumping it on me. So, I really didn't want to start off the day with that so I dragged my body out of bed.

I got into the shower and stayed in there for maybe 10 minutes just letting the slightly warm water beat gently on my back. Then, I just washed my hair and conditioned my hair and shaved and cleaned my body which only took about 7 minutes. I got out and got dressed in my skinny jeans with a couple of ripped holes in them and got a Victoria Secret hoodie that was pink and said VS on the front. I love wearing comfortable clothes. I brushed my hair out and let is natural cause frankly I didn't care what people thought of me. I brushed my teeth and then put deodorant on and my favorite perfume on. I wore a pair of my grey Vans which were very comfortable! I put light make up and only put mascara on my already full and long lashes. I grabbed my backpack and made my way down stairs where my mom was making coffee and my brother who was probably texting his girl toy. My brother is the same age as me, 17, and he's popular because he's on the football team and my school is very big on football. I decided to stay on the down low cause I really didn't like people in general.

"Hey the bear has came out from hibernation!" chuckled my brother

"Oh very funny brad! You should become a comedian." I spit back. Note the sarcasm, he always had to make comments about me and always got his friends to make fun of me. But I tried to always come back with a smart ass comment to put them in their place.

"Come on guys just eat your breakfast and get to school cause you don't want to be late on your first day of senior year." my mom said as nice and assertive as possible. After what dad did to her she never put up with any crap, even from us.

"Yeah we better get going sky." brad said to break the awkward silence that just went over the room. We both kissed our mom on the cheek and said our byes. Brad always drove me to school cause honestly I didn't want to waste my gas on school.

We arrived at the school parking lot at 7:50, school starts at 8:10. So we still had some time which I love cause I hate going to class and I get to talk with my best friend Ana.

I walked through the school and of course no one really pays attention to me, I pull being invisible off pretty well. I only talked to Ana and maybe a "hi" and "how are you" to people who really wanted to talk to me and I didn't want to be too rude.

I went down to the Cafeteria where everyone is suppose to be while we wait for the first bell to ring. Ana and I just sat at the table in the corner alone and we were fine with that. We were like sisters, all we needed was each other.

"How was your morning sky?" asked Ana with her usual perky and smiley self.

"Like usual, what about you?" I said in a very tired and not wanting to be here voice.

"Well I did have a dough nut today so that really got my day to a very great start!" She said in a smile with her dimple showing through. I say dimple because she only has one, she use to have two dimples but over the years it just went away. I always tease her about it and she always puts her hand over her cheek and blushes. Just as I was about to yell at her for not getting me a dough nut, the first bell rang to signal its time for us to go to 1st period.
