Keilla's P.O.V.

"Keilla...." someone whispered faintly, after a while I recognized the voice to be my mom's

Blurry flashbacks showed of me when I was 5... Where was this? This memory.... so familiar.... no, it was that day years ago.... The day I saw them.... The large wolves fighting each other.... Two of them against dozens....

My sister, horror clear across her face, hid behind me hugging her stuffed bunny tightly.... They glanced at us and were caught of guard, both of them pinned down by wolves who looked 'rabid', unlike the two.... They glanced at us with apologetic looks and pain in their eyes....

It was then that the 'rabids' tore them limb from limb without thinking twice as two innocent little girls watched....  I covered Kylies eyes and closed mine as blood splattered on the side of my face....

they were MERCILESS

The 'rabids' snarled at us then started walking slowly towards us.  I hid Kylie behind me, terrified but, I had to take care of my sister...

All of a sudden a blur of white swooped down attacking the wolves and scaring them away with an eagle-like screech. After the wolves were gone, it flew off leaving no trace...  I was thankful

Just as the 'rabids' ran off, the two wolves, lying limp in our backyard began to change....  Fur from their body faded away into their skin until all that was left were lifeless, human bodies...  Somehow their faces were familiar to me.

my eyes widened

MOMMY!!! DADDY!!!!

We ran to them crying then shook their limp bodies.  They were really gone...  I turned my head to see Kylie sobbing over mom.  Our tears flowed non-stop still in shock over what happened.

In the corner of my eye, I saw two glowing yellow eyes.  They glanced between us then hurled straight at me;  my scream echoed

I was snapped back into reality and I woke up, sweating and breathing fast, looking straight ahead wide-eyed not noticing my sister in the same state I was in...

"Sis, did you have the same nightmare?" I asked walking to her bed on the other side of the bed-side table

"Yeah Kei..." she said with a sob, with me sitting beside her and hugging her tightly, trying to hold back the tears.

I looked at the alarm clock on the bed side dresser between our beds, it was 2 am. We have been having this nightmare every now and then since mom and dad died - and that was 3 years ago.

"ssssh sssssh" I whispered, continuously running my fingers through her messy hair gently. I couldn't hold it back anymore, tears rolled down my cheek as I tryed to compress the pain.  I hugged her tightly her head resting in the crook of my neck.

"Why K? I still don't understand?" She said sobbing.  I could hear the sorrow in her hoarse voice, wishing I could give her an answer... Kylie just let her tears flow and we found ourselves drifting of to sleep side by side.

4 hours later I woke up on my own, I heard the sound of the showers realizing where Kylie was. Seeing the time was 6 am, I immediately went and got ready for school. It was a good thing we had Dad's car, that way we could take our time.

"Keilla, it's your turn" Kylie said towel drying her hair walking to her closet

"Thanks Ky." I looked at her turning around from looking for something to wear. She had dark circles under her eyes. These nightmares affected her badly, she hasn't had a good night sleep in ages.

"Hey K..." I glanced at her, eyes still red from crying herself to sleep "Thanks for last night..." she gave me an innocent smile and I smiled sadly at her.  "No need to thank me."

I had a quick shower wishing the hot water would wash away those horrible memories

When I got out I decided to put on lite make up and change into a bright red, tight-fit top, some black skinny jeans, and flats. Kylie wore a crimson leather jacket over a white v-neck, black skinny jeans and sandals.

I sighed a breath fo delight when I smelt the sweet aroma of grandma's famous chocolate-chip pancakes. I ran down the stairs  anxious to see a full stack of pancakes on the table.

"mornin' Grams" we both said at the same time sitting straight down at the table

"Good morning dears" she said in a motherly way "Still as beautiful as ever I see. And I love your pumps Kylie dear, it suits you." she clumsily said while looking at me

I giggled in amusement "Grams, when will you ever tell us apart?" She always gets us mixed up although I can't blame her, we do look very much alike. Although there are differences like my eyes are blue green while Kylie's eyes were aqua blue and I had Long, wavey, black hair while Kylie had, well she still had long and wavy black hair but with reddish sort of dip-dyed tips, which she got from mom. If it wasn't for that no one would be abe to tell us apart

"Oh, I'm terribly sorry dear! You know us old people and our memories..." Kylie giggled as Grams  placed our breakfast on the table,  showing us her carefree smile like she always does.

Kylie and I lazily finished our breakfast, "Thanks for breakfast Grams!" she had a big smile on her face.  We really did love grams, she's been our guardian angel since - well, since our parents past away.  Kylie was always the goody-two-shoes between the two of us and the responsible one, and the smart one too; today, she wasn't acting like it

We lost track of time cause, I guess we just didn't care...

"I think you better go dears you're gonna be late."

"Okay grams"  I know she could see the hesitation in my eyes

"Oh girls"  We looked at her just as we opened the front door "At least try to have fun, okay?"

"Sure grams...  See you tonight."  Kylie said and I smiled at grams "Lova yah grams" We both said in unison, making grams smile back

The drive was quiet.  The school was 15 minutes away, and I, wasn't in a hurry so I slowed down to 20kph.  Kylie didn't seem to care, she just looked at me and smiled amused at my efforts to avoid school for just a little while longer.

I parked the car at the far end of the parking lot letting out a deep breath... "Just another normal day at school..." I murmured to myself chuckling at what I said. 'Normal' this day would be anything but normal, I thought to myself, just like every other day, just 'cause we're she-wolves and all...

"God, I can't wait for spring break..." Kylie said with a sigh then hesitantly swung her door open.  I chuckled at her comment.  "Hey, that's my line. . ."  She snickered rolling her eyes at me

We walked side by side, my arm linked with hers. We walked slow but steady not phased by the consequences of being late.  We stopped right at the main door and shared a look of annoyance before walking in.

School - why did it have to exist in the first place?
