Roller Coaster Ride

Oh so sweet, you draw me in,

With your kind words and gentle touch,

You fill me up, yet empty me all the same.

You are exhilarating like a thrill ride,

But you move so fast I can't catch my breath,

So instead, I just go along with the ride.

But when it all ends, I'm right back where I started,

Ready to circle the tracks once again,

As if we never existed, as if sparks never flew,

I'm on a continuous loop of an emotional roller coaster ride.

Together, we rose up like the sun,

But the higher the pedestal, the harder the fall,

And for fear of tumbling through darkness alone and afraid,

I clung to you as if you could save me... HA...

But you can't save me if I'm already gone,

You can't save me if you were never here,

So I keep falling...

Through dark,

Through light,

Through pain,

Through tears.

Hoping that someday, someone might catch me.
