It was the day he had been dreading for a long, long time. The first day of school in the new year. 6th Of January 2016. He marked off the word hell on his calendar. It was finally the day. He looked at his phone as his mother called up the stairs.
"Get a move on will yah, or you'll be walking to school!" She yelled.
"Coming mum, keep your kunas on", he shouted even louder at her.
As he ran past his mirror, he stopped and stared at himself. Wondering why he was like this. It wasn't fair. He was disturbed by his mum yelling up at him again. He ran downstairs as fast as he could. Trying to look enthusiastic. As he was in the car, he looked out the window to see the traffic lights and rushing cars. People trying to get to work on time. He wasn't at all aware that he was in the real world. It sort of just took over him. It never failed to be beautiful. Especially when it was dull and raining. The traffic and car horns and people running with briefcases made him feel safe. He couldn't explain why, it just did.
The car screeched as his mother slammed on the breaks.
"Stupid SOB", she screamed out the window.
To make it worse, they were at school. Totally embarrassing him in front of everyone. As he approached the huge automatic doors, his heart pounded out of his chest. He felt as if it were a mini heart attack. 'It's not all the bad', he reassured himself, trying to calm down so he didn't look like a total maniac walking through the doors of the school.
"Oh who am I kidding", he mumbled under his breath. Nothing could ever be worse than this. Nothing good EVER came out of school. In fact he was pretty sure it was actually hell.
"Life is so unfair", he thought to himself, walking through the gates of hell. All the prayed for was not to be looked at by everyone. But, that prayer was never answered. Just like all his other prayers.
He walked briskly through the corridors. In fear that people would stare at him.
'Oh shit' he thought. There he was. The most amazing guy in the whole entire history of the world. Jordan Frost.
Jordan Frost was the person he looked forward to seeing every day. He was what made his day. His bright blue eyes were the sky on a summers day and shone like the stars in the night sky. Your heart stopped when he looked at you and you felt as if you were flying. He had traits about him though. His word choice wasn't the best and nor were his speaking skills. Jordan had a lisp and he stuttered a lot. But that was only because he had Tourettes Syndrome. It wasn't his fault. Matt still liked him regardless of what other people said and thought about Jordan. He had dark brown hair that looked like melted chocolate. Oh how he loved him. Everything about him was beautiful. From the fact that he was kind of small, his lisp, how pale he was, how his lips curled in when he smiled. The list goes on. But there was one thing that he wasn't so keen on. He was friends with Dusty McLande and Bones (or Blake) Macintosh. Bones and Dusty were the meanest bullies around. I mean if there was a Guinness World Record for the meanest bully they would share it. Hating everyone and everything (including their girlfriends) both Dusty and Bones went striding through life with a smile on their face. All I can say is I don't know how their girlfriends even stuck with them. But it was probably just for the attention anyways. Considering that their girlfriends were named Heather Atkins and Zara something. Nobody really knew Zara's last name. It was unheard of. But they were the most attention seeking bitches in the school. They were popular. Just like their boyfriends. Only doing it for the attention. Nothing really mattered to them. Only their looks and if they were being looked at. If they were both fine their day was great. Matt hated everything about them. The fact that they made themselves look like they were going to a nightclub. Waist length hair dyed god knows how many times before the age of 12. The handbags for schoolbags. It really bugged him. I guess he envied them in a way. They were the perfect girls and everyone took their side and listened to their story. Nobody listened to what he had to say. Never once did he get adored. Yeah, he was jealous. But only because he was lonely. Anyway I got waaayyy off track there. Back to the story.
