Remus sighed as James and Sirius started to push each other like two little children. They were so immature for seventeen year olds-or seven year olds. They sat by the lake,James and Sirius were messing,Peter was looking at them in awe and Remus was reading.Pretty much an average day for the marauders.

The outline of a petite girl formed before his eyes. When the girl came within 50 metres her features became clear, perfectly straight blonde hair, tied back with a pink ribbon and startling blue eyes:Clarisse Dela Feux. Remus thought she was the most beautiful girl in the world.Of course she was part veela but that was beyond the point. He had had a crush on her since third year. She was carrying a scroll in her hand and she walked right up to him.

"Here Remus,Dumbledore wants you to go to his office"she said, handing him the scroll with a dazzling smile before she walked off. Just like that.James gave him a thumbs up while Sirius snickered and Peter stared longingly after Clarisse, which severely annoyed Remus.

He said goodbye to his friends before he made his way to Dumbledore's office. He opened the scroll and as expected it only had two words on it:chocolate frogs. He rolled his eyes slightly at the password before he looked up at the two, extremely ugly gargoyles.

"Chocolate Frogs"he said confidently and the gargoyles span to show a twisting staircase. He knocked politely before entering the office.

Dumbledore sat at his desk, the pensieve lay in front of him and for once the old man was frowning. This worried Remus but he still stepped forward and greeted him cheerfully.

"Ah,hello Remus.I have called you here today to look at some memories. Here you go,just duck your head in"Dumbledore told him and he couldn't resist frowning.

"Are you not viewing it with me?"He asked and Dumbledore shook his head at him.

"I have already seen them.Go on"the old headmaster encouraged and Remus shrugged before leaning right into the basin with the multiple memories.

At first it was all black and Remus couldn't see anything but then the scene began to form.He was on an empty beach, well it wasn't empty, there was a girl who looked his age, seventeen. He couldn't deny that she was beautiful. She was even a match for Clarisse and Remus wondered if the girl was part veela. She had long, wavy black hair and big, brown eyes. She didn't say anything but she turned and as if knowing he was there, she smiled at him,a mad glint in her eyes as if she knew everything about him and his life.

The scene shifted and Remus found himself in an old house. The wallpaper was ripped, the chairs and table looked second hand and there was a stain that looked oddly like blood on the floor. Then the girl he saw a moment ago walked out.She was younger this time, maybe around five years old.A woman came out from one of the doors. She bore no resemblance to the girl except the brown eyes. She had bright orange hair but she didn't look very bright, she was glaring at the girl.

Remus looked over at the girl and noticed that her eyes were a bright green. He could have sworn they were brown in the other memory. She got a dreamy look on her face and she spoke in a voice that surprised Remus,it was misty and judging from the mother's face, the girl didn't talk like this normally.

"A soul claimed from her daughter's hand. To reap the awards or to drown. To fight alongside or against. The mothers soul shall be returned once again"

Then the girl collapsed and the scene changed. He was in the same house as before but the girl had aged a couple of years, she looked around eight or nine and another person was in the room along with the mother. The other person was dragging the girl out of the house but she was persistent.

"Mum!Please don't send me back there!I'll make it stop mum! Please!MUM!MUM!"the girl shouted and screamed but her mother just looked at her coldly.

"Goodbye Persephone"she said and the scene changed yet again. This time Remus was in a small white room, with only a bed and a desk but the walls were covered in paper, with neat curly handwriting on them. Persephone had yet again changed age and she looked thirteen. She was even pretty then but Remus felt weird, thinking a thirteen year old was pretty. She sat with her legs crossed on the bed with a hospital coverup on and Remus felt a but embarrassed because of her lack of clothes. The door opened behind him and a middle-aged woman came in.She looked mean and stern.
