Alone: A Gravity Falls One-Shot

  My contest entry for WattyFallers and EZ-Dayz "WattyFallers' Gravity Falls Writing Contest". For Contest #1.  I hope you guys like it!

Bill levitated the journals. "That's right. Don't be a hero, kid." Bill waved Ford, who was now a golden statue. "This is what happens to heroes in my world." All three journals caught on fire, burning up. Dipper's eyes widened at seeing the one thing that had helped him survive the summer be destroyed.

"NO! THE JOURNALS!" the twelve-year-old yelled in protest.

"Not much of a threat now, are you?" Bill taunted. The triangle demon then turned around to his friends and asked, "Now can anyone remind me why we came here?"

"To get WEIRD!" 8 Ball shouted.

"THAT'S RIGHT! V.I.P. party at the fearamid. Oh, and 8 Ball, Teeth, you've earned a  treat, have the kid as a snack," Bill said.

"Huh?" Dipper asked in confusion.

8 Ball's eyes rolled back into his head, and Dipper wondered if that was the monster's way of rolling his eyes. Teeth chuckled.

"Hench-maniacs, ROLL OUT!" Bill shouted, turning a car into a what looked more like some sort of flying race car. Bill's friends got into car, laughing and muttering to each other.

"Let's get out of here, Bill!" Pyronica said excitedly. Bill drove away, laughing like the maniac he was.

Dipper stared warily at the two monster-like demons in front of him, panting heavily.

"So, you wanna eat him, or something?" 8 Ball asked.

"Oh, definitely, let's eat him," Teeth said happily.

Dipper took a step back before breaking into a run, and he let out a scream when he noticed 8 Ball and Teeth following him. The terrain changed from the ruined town to the forest quickly, and the twelve-year-old had to dodge the branches and rocks. Teeth and 8 Ball were close behind, and they were gaining. Dipper glanced behind him and tried to run faster, but he was already running as fast as he could. Finally, the kid jumped behind a tree in an effort to get away. Dipper slowly peeked from behind the tree, and he sighed in relief upon seeing no monsters or demoms that wanted to eat him. I guess they gave up, he thought, even though that sounded unlikely to him. As long as he could find Mabel, everything would be okay.

The kid looked around what he assumed--or hoped--was an empty forest. As terrifying as the chase was, it seemed he got away too easily. Something wasn't right, and it wasn't just Dipper's paranoid side going off. The forest that had surrounded the town was normal. Even without Weirdmageddon going on, the forest was never normal. Dipper thought that the forest would've been even crazier with the odd-poclypse. But everything was quiet. Quietly, Dipper walked in what he thought was the direction of the Mystery Shack. But he didn't need anyone to point out what obviously happened to him.

He was lost.

Dipper frantically tried to locate anything he could identify, but the shroud darkness caused by the shadows of the trees obscured the are around him. Exasperation and worry filled the kid. Why did he, of all people, have to deal with this? Why was everything up to him?! He was a twelve-year-old dorky kid who could barely fight off the bullies that constantly teased him. Usually, his sister was the one who fought off the bullies or brightened his low spirits. Dipper felt overwhelming sadness hit him. Mabel. He hoped she was okay. And if Bill hurt her, the triangle had another thing coming. No one hurt his sister. No one--Dipper paused. He couldn't help but think about how he was sure he couldn't save the world one moment, then confident that he could save his twin. Which he could, of course. What would Mabel say about that? he thought, trying to think of what his sister would do. Probably ask me why I was acting so 'cray-cray'. Thinking about Mabel made him sadder, but also fueled his returning determination. He was so caught up in his thoughts that he almost didn't hear a crack resounding through the quiet woods. Dipper suddenly had the feeling that 8 Ball and Teeth never left.
