"You got another job?" Kyren asks, giving me a pout. Her short, blazing red hair falling in her face. I sigh and crouch down to the 10 year old's level.
"Yeah. But I'll be back as soon as I can," I reply, gently brushing the hair out of her face. She looks up at me with tear filled eyes. And this is why I hate taking jobs.
"Can't you take me with you?" Kyren whines. I shake my head.
"No, babe. It could be very dangerous because I'm not the only person looking for someone important. I can't risk you getting hurt. Besides, you'll be with big brother Valkin," I say, tenderly. I hate leaving this kid.
"But he's scarey!" She protests, tears now streaming down her rosey cheaks.
"No he's not. He's just a different species then you. I promise he'll take good care of you, baby."
She flings her arms around my neck and cries. "I don't want you to go! I don't want to be alone!"
My heart breaks more then it already has doing this. I gently stroke her head. "Sssshhhhh. Sssshhh. I know, I know. It's ok. Tell you what. If your good when I get back, I'll take you off world to visit a different plantet, ok?" I suggest, pulling her away from me a little bit.
Her eyes light up. "Really?"
"Really, really. I promise to call you every day. Ok?" I ask. She nods rapidly. I laugh and pat her head. "Good. Go pack your things for when big brother gets here." I say shooing her off. She runs off to her room to pack.
I sigh and stand up. Walking to my room, I pack everything I may or may not need on this mission.
-timeskip- dought to you by storm troopers-
The buzzer sounds in the living room. I go over and open the front door. A togruta (A/n- Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars is a togruta) stands there.
"Hello, Katrin," he says smiling.
I nod. "Kyren! Big brother's here!" I call.
"Ok!" She calls from her room. Soon, she walks out with her pack. "I'm ready."
"Ok. Be good for Valkin, ok?" I remind her, giving her a hug.
"Ok, Rin-Rin. Be safe, ok?" She says, happily.
I laugh and give her a playful salute. "Yes, ma'am!" I turn to Valkin. "Take good care of her. I don't know how long I'll be gone."
"You don't have to worry about her, ok? Just make sure you come back to her in one peace," he replies smiling.I sigh. "If I could promise that, I would. Now you should get going."
"By, big sissy! I love you!" Kyren calls walking out with Valkin.
I wave goodbye to her. I smile though its hidden by my helmet. "I love you, too," I say, quietly.
Now, I need to get to my ship.
-time skip to the hanger-
"Going off world?" Asks the Storm Trooper guarding the hangers.
"If I wasn't, I wouldn't be here, idiot," I snap. He jumps back in surprise of my outburst.
"Uh um. Proceed then," the trooper replies, uncertainly.
"Tch, idiot," I say and walk into the hangers and begin looking for my ship. I head to hanger C-5 where I had last landed my ship. There, standing regally, is the Death Stalker. The finest ship I have ever flown. Also it's my ship. It can rival the Millennium Falcon in speed.
I had painted my ship black, because why not. Her hull is smooth, and slender to accommodate her speed. I see my symbol on the hull. A white animals head incased in a white fire.
I board my ship and activate all of the systems. I hear and feel the familiar hum of my beloved ship. One of these days, I will take Kyren on an adventure in space. Nothing dangerous, just a small adventure. I would love doing that with her one day.
"Beep beep boop wheee!" My droid calls.
"I'm in the cockpit, S4!" I reply to the droid. The black and purple astromech rolls in as we take off. Seconds later we exit the planetary gravity of Ryloth. "Take over. I need to meditate," I say to the droid as I exit the cockpit.
"Wooo beep bop?" He asks, swiveling his head in my direction.
"Um. Just go into hyperspace for now. I'll give you there co-ordinance when I have them," I reply walking down the hall to my training/ meditation room.
The door slides open. I walk in and sit down on the matted floor.
I close my eyes and concentrate on looking through the Force to find my quarry.
I see an ocean and really green hills. A forest surrounds what looks like an ancient and abandoned Jedi temple. I smerk."I found you... Luke."
