More Than..

Don't ever mistake my silence for ignorance.
I measure my words in weight, you do the same in the quantity. My silence reflects my contemplation. My words may be little, but when spoken they have a great impact. You speak a dozen words, which simply fade away into silence. I speak a handful, yet the wind carries them into your mind. Mine create ripples, yours sink. Who is the true ignorant one?
A thoughtful silence speaks more than thoughtless words ever could.

Don't mistake my silence for surrender.
What is, is what life gives me. What will be, is what I make of life. Rash-eyed despair might be Today's only companion, but it is Tomorrow's worst enemy. It is only a tranquil mind that can give peace to Today and satisfaction to Tomorrow. My calmness speaks understanding life's downs and working towards the peaks of happiness. My tranquility speaks of rationality, your despair conveys a troubled mind and a troubled mind cannot work towards an untroubled Future.
My calmness speaks of acceptance, not of surrender.

Don't mistake my kindness for weakness.
To be kind is the greatest strength of all. My compassion speaks of my ability to be the shoulder for you to cry on, the mind that can share your troubles and the heart that can share your grief. My kindness is not reflection of my inability to be harsh, it's simply my unwillingness to be so.
Kind words and and small smiles and a mind you can confide in and a heart you can share with.... that is my strength, to be able to be yours.

Don't mistake my love for blindness.
I love you, and it is my love that speaks. It is only he who truly loves who truly sees. Neither blinded by the good, nor blind to the bad. My love makes me want to better you. Don't mistake that to be my unwillingness to accept you as you are. No man is infallible, no man can remain as he is. As time passes, change will remain the only constant. I love you, so I will make that change positive. I will praise you on your good qualities, but the bad will not remain unseen. I will see them and make you see as well. Then, I will be with you every step of the way to a better you.

Don't mistake the tears on my face to be cracks in my heart.
My heart is stronger than that. With every tear I shed, I shed that momentary anguish. It is only then that I can face what life has given me, the cause for my tears. You see my tears. Why don't you see me wiping them away? You see the pain. Why do you overlook the resolve in those same eyes? I will not stop for Life will not stop for me. I will not look back, because time Then is time Gone. What will be is what is ahead. I wipe away my tears, and I resolve to overcome whatever life throws at me.

Don't mistake me for someone I am not. Your eyes are open, open your mind as well. Look at me. Truly.
