Partners Or Lovers?

Shattered

I love her. I love her so much. I'm going to tell her. Today. I am going to tell her how I have felt all these years. All this pent up emotion. I'm finally going to tell her.
I get up and go in the shower. I take a long shower to cleanse myself of my past life. I want to forget the past and move on. I want to make a new life with her.
I get up and get ready for work. I wear my David Beckham aftershave along with the body spray, because I know it's her favourite.
I put in my thick leather belt on my suit pants. I clip my badge to it and put my gun in the holster. I grab my keys and phone.
I go down to my to my car and sit in it for a few minutes to gather my thoughts.
Okay. I'm now officially divorced. And I can finally tell the love of my life how I feel about her.
I drive to McDonald's to pick up a black coffee for myself and a chocolate chip frappe for her, again, because it's her favourite.
I drive to the precinct and rehearse what I am going to say to her, before getting out of the car.
I take the drinks and lock my car. I walk to the elevator and press our floor number. I walk out of the elevator and into the squad room.
I see Finn sitting at his desk. I notice that Olivia's isn't sitting at her desk.
"Hey where is Liv?" I ask, been as she usually arrives here before anyone else.
"She is in the restroom" he replies
I walk over to our a joining desk and put the drinks on it.
I sit there and wait.
I see her walking through the door. She walks over to our desks and smiles as she sees the drink on her desk.
"Thank you" she says, her beautiful smile practically makes my heart melt.
"What you working on?" She asks
"Just paper work" I say
"Well I've finished so I could help you" she says walking to my side of the desk. She leans over it just enough to flash her cleavage. I want to look but it would be too obvious so I look at the sheets of paper on my desk. She smells like her usual self. Paco Raban lady million. She knows it's my favourite.
"You smell nice" she says out of no where.
"Oh, thank you. So do you" I reply.
"Thank you" she smiles.
"Then again, you always smell nice" I add. I think that was a bit much been as she backed off, with a half hearted smile.
I have now totally creeped her out. I can't do it. Not now. Not after this. I've just embarrassed myself. Do I'm not going to embarrass myself even more!
When she is done helping me finish she walks back to her side of the desk.
I see she check her watch. So I check mine. I must have arrived late because it's already 11:45.
"Hey el, do you want to get some lunch?" She asks with her beautiful smile again.
"Yeah sure" I say.
We stand up and walk down to my car. I open the door, I know she likes a gentleman.
She smiles and gets in the car. I get in the drivers side and we make our way to out favourite Chinese shop.
We walk inside and order what we want.
We stood there for a while.
"Order 76" the lady say.
I see Liv going in her bag for her money, so before she had chance I payed for the both of us.

"Elliot you didn't have to do that" she says getting into the car.
"I know" I say
I know I didn't have to but I wanted to.
We drove back to the precinct and walked into the break room. I see that Finn and Munch had just started to eat their vending machine crap. I could tell they were jealous.
I get out Olivia's noodles and pass them to her. I get out my own and then put the spring rolls in the middle of us.

When we are done, I see there is a spring roll left. I push the napkin that it sits on towards her.
"Here" I say
"No, you have it!" She replies
"No I want you to have it" I insist
"Okay" she says picking it up. She bites it in half and then puts the other half next to my mouth. She smiles and I bite it almost taking of her fingers.
We both laugh a little.
"Will you two just get a room already?!" Finn says
"Excuse me?" She asks
"Get a damn room! We don't wanna watch you 'mingle' !" Munch adds whilst gesturing with his hands.
Her jaw slightly drops at his comment.
"Guys seriously?" I ask kind of sternly. They knew that I liked her. I haven't officially told them, but they always teased me about it.
There is no way I can tell her now!

She just laughs and brushes the comment of.
"You done?" She asks
"Erm.. Yeah thanks" I say as she takes my trash and throws it in the bin. She is on the other side of the room but she isn't too far away to not hear what we are saying. Munch knew this and still felt it was necessary to tease me some more.
"So when are you going to ask her out?" He asks really loudly. He might as well of shouted it through a mega phone and broad casted it on the super bowl big screen!
"Yeah, when are you going to ask me out Stabler?" She asks walking towards me. She sits directly in front of my on the table.
"W..wha..I.." I struggle for things to say.
"El calm down! In just messing with you!" She playfully pushes me and walks out of the break room. I watch her as she walks off.
"Okay, Elliot some advise. It's really obvious when you stare at her ass!" Finn jokes
"Har har. Very funny!" I reply.
"But seriously, when are you gonna ask her out?!" Munch asks moving closer to me.
I back off.
"It's non of your business" I say kind of sharply. I stand up and walk out and meet Olivia at our desks.
"Sorry about them!" I say
"Oh don't worry about it. They are just messing with us. I find it funny, because we would never get together!" She laughs.
I physically felt my heart break into a million pieces as it shatters on the floor.
