I sighed and stared at the blank page in front of me. Maths was so boring. I glanced at the board and at my teacher deciding that she looked angry so I decided I better look busy. I was usually less restless but tomorrow was the day I was going to see short stack and I had BACKSTAGE PASSES! Flicking back through my book I saw Shaun diviney scribbled on all the pages along with things he said and occasionally things about bradie and andy from my best friend when they were allowed to sit together.
When the bell rang I packed up in a second and was at Callie’s desk in a minute.
Callie looked as excited as I felt as we ran off to catch the train to buy their stack outfits. In the shops we tried on the craziest and bright things we could find, hoping to make an impression on the boys. On the way home callie was restless and unusually quiet, but I didn’t even give it a second thought, callie was often grumpy.
That night I set my alarm for 5am cause I wanted to be early and after checking my emails and chatting on msn I finally crashed out. I woke when shimmy a go go blasted full volume in my ear even though the room was dark I dragged herself to get up. After quickly dressing in my skinnies, bright tutu, slouchy grey top, converse and glittery false eyelashes I straightened my hair and sprayed it with glittery hairspray then did my makeup.
At exactly 6am I shoved my earphones in and pumped stack and for our hero on the long way to callies house towing the presents we had for the guys. Callie looked just as bright as me and we walked to line up, everything was perfect. we arrived at 9am and got really good spots in line, settling in for hours of waiting, talking, screaming at the crew and new friends.
Callie was really quiet but I didn’t say anything cause I was used to callie being happy and fun when she wanted to and grumpy and mean when she couldn’t be bothered. The crew started to arrive around 2 and I screamed when jimmy walked past smiling at me. It was an amazing feeling and Ishe was enjoying it, when the pain exploded in my face, I blanked out and slumped forward, the last thing I heard was someone running and yelling ”Shaun call an ambulance.”
