"...And that's how we met Frank. He's a hybrid, which means he can turn into an animal at will, in his case it's a dog," Mikey explained to the holographic image of Helena projected from Gerard's communication watch.
"It sounds like you've become quite the band of adventurers," she replied, "how far away from the dimension's edge are you?" Gerard shrugged, "It can't be far-" A sharp tug on the back of his shirt cut him off. He looked up to see the glowing laser grid of the dimension border that he could've walked into. He turned around slowly, and there was Frank holding him back from the white-hot wall. Gerard paused,
"Hey, thanks."
"No problem, Gee." Frank yipped. Gerard thought for a moment, Why'd he use my nickname? The other two just call me "Gerard". Unless... He looked back at the hologram.
"We're here," he said, "we'll send another holomessage after we find New Jersia."He set MaTT's box on the ground.
"Alright," Gerard instructed, "we've got about a ten second timeframe to jump through a person-sized hole in these lasers. MaTT can only hold them off for so long." The group nodded, and stood back as MaTT released a force field bubble to counteract the barrier. The hole was only big enough for one.
