The Bracelet

A/N: This is set after the events of Episode 15. And thanks to @raycchell on Instagram for originally giving me this idea.

Adrien sat hunched over in his chair at his desk. He looked down at the bracelet in his hand. Marinette's bracelet.

Marinette's bracelet. Marinette's lucky charm.

He still had it from when Marinette gave it to him the day he went to her house to practice for the tournament. She hadn't even asked for it back before the tournament.

He sighed and slowly rubbed his thumb over the big green bead.

She had come up to him after her and Max's victory. He thought that she was going to ask for it back. She didn't.

Marinette's bracelet. Marinette's lucky charm.

Marinette.

Sweet, adorable Marinette.

"Plagg, I'm in love with Ladybug."

"Duh," his kwami answered.

Plagg took a big bite out of some stinky cheese. Adrien nearly gagged at the stench.

"So why... why..." he thought of Marinette. He thought of her smile, and his stomach fluttered.

"Why do I feel this way towards Marinette?" He whispered, more to himself than to his kwami.

"You have girl problems," Plagg shoved the rest of the cheese in his mouth. He floated down and sat on Adrien's desk.

He gently closed his hand around the bracelet.

Marinette's bracelet. Marinette's lucky charm.

Ladybug never left his mind. She was always there. Adrien loved her. He was as sure as he was that he was Chat Noir. Adrien Agreste is secretly Chat Noir, and he loves Ladybug

But then he had started to feel something for Marinette. Sweet, adorable Marinette. Now she was inside his head, too.

Adrien finally looked up from the bracelet to look at his kwami. "There's something different about her."

"Marinette?"

"Yes!" Adrien exclaimed. "Every time I'm with her, I can just feel it. There's something different about her. Something familiar." He looked back down at the bracelet that he clutched in his hand.

"I just can't put my finger on it."

Adrien walked up to Marinette, who had her head inside of her locker.

"Hey Marinette." Marinette yelped and jumped, hitting her head on her locker.

"Oww," she brought her head out of her locker. "Adrien!" She exclaimed, her cheeks reddening. She brought her hand up and rubbed her head. "Uh, hi." She looked down at her shoes.

"I came to give you your bracelet back." Adrien put his hand in his bag and pulled out the bracelet. He reluctantly held the bracelet out towards her, it sitting on his open palm.

Marinette looked up. They're eyes met, and Adrien felt his stomach flutter. He smiled at her, and her cheeks darkened.

Marinette looked down at the bracelet in Adrien's hand. She looked back up at Adrien's face. "Keep it," she stated.

"What?" Adrien said, shocked. "But it's your lucky charm."

"I want you to have it." Marinette reached her left hand out and put it underneath Adrien's. Butterflies fluttered in his stomach. She used her right hand to close Adrien's fingers around the bracelet. "I don't need it."
