Raven awoke and looked around taking in her surroundings, the beautiful garden made easily visible by her giant bay window. She could see many servants already attending to it and happily chatting among themselves. She heard her doorknob being turned and quickly laid back down and pretended to be asleep. "Nice try princess, but I have known you too long for you to still fool me with such antics". The voice was a familiar one and welcomed. Raven popped back up making her already bad bed head just a little bit worse. "Star, i thought you were another servant or something and frankly I do not wish to leave this room today or any day from now on" Raven ranted then had to stop to breathe. "Well what will Garfield say if he is not never see you again, I imagine he would drop dead" Starfire teased her green eyes sparkling with amusement. "Keep your voice down when speaking of such affairs sometimes I do regret telling you" Raven replied with her pale cheeks turning a deep red. "What must I do today" Raven asked attempting to change the subject. "Well" Starfire said standing from the edge of the bed "you have to go speak to your father about some sort of important affairs and then you have etiquette training and after that you have your horse training". Raven was half listening figuring out a way to go to the stables unseen, threw some clothes at her head and she quickly awaken from her day dreaming. Starfire made her way over to the door with her long pink hair trailing behind and called over her shoulder "Do not doddle" as she finally left. Raven laid back again and sighed, another full day of meeting and whatever else her parent felt like forcing on her since she had no say in her own life. She let a small smile play across her lips and thought of what they did not know, they did not know that she had already found love and happiness and it was not with all the things they tried to force on her. It was with the stable boy. The way is green eyes would shine when his jokes were actually funny or how melodic his laugh sounded to her. How when they had met she was taller but now he had about three inches on her. Her favorite were how he was determine to find a way to make her happy no matter what, that was something that had never been done for her. Raven wholeheartedly loved him and nothing was going to change that no matter how many "wonderful" princes came by. She believe she was up to seven now. Finally pulling out enough strength she rose, dressed, and began to walk to the throne room.
"Raven how nice of you to join us" King Trigon said shooing away all the maid and servant in the room "Please sit". "Yes Father. Mother what did you wish to speak about" Raven asked tucking a lock of her dark hair behind her hair. "Raven your father and I both have been discussing and have decided that you will no longer need to meet suitor because it will be easier if we pick one for you" her mothers smile was genuine she really believed that this was a good life and Raven simply agreed nodding her head and rising. "Is that all because I have to attend etiquette in a few minutes"? They nodded and she quickly ran off. Etiquette class went by in flash as she filled her mind with thoughts of all the arrogant men her parents would bring by. Once it was over she ran to her room, changed into her riding gear, and ran to the stables. "Hello" she called looking into every single stall before she heard coughing. "Hello princess Raven the horse is now freshly washed and ready to ride" he bowed and Raven burst out laughing. He stood up with a big grin on his "What is so funny I was trying to sound polite". She just kept laughing fondly shaking her head "That was really polite Cy keep it up and you might end up and as King in no time" she pat muscled are as she passed him. "Was Silky difficult today" Raven asked as she saw Cy wipe some sweat of his chocolate brown skin and bald head. "What gave it away"he said stepping back to get the saddle. Once everything was situated Raven hopped on to the horse and Cy led it into the open pastures. Once they were far enough away from anyone Raven spoke. "Have you seen Garfield this day"? Cy shook his head and continued steering them around "He was not home when I awoke and he has not passed me all day" he answered. Garfield and Cy or Cyborg were basically brothers since they bother had no other family and quickly became close. "Okay gratitude anyway" Raven said trying to keep the sadness out of her voice as the lesson continued. Honestly Raven can ride like no one has ever seen, she just still takes the lessons to be close to her only friends Cy and Garfield.
The lesson ended and Raven hopped down from the horse "Thank you it has been delightful today". He smiled and stretched "I hate to ask but could you put Silky into his stall because I have somewhere to be tonight". Raven pretended to be annoyed but nodded and grabbed the reigns.
She was almost done putting Silky away when two hands covered her eyes and a sweet voice whispered into her ear "Guess who". Raven pretended to be thoughtful then said "Um Prince Robin"? Garfield let out a laugh and backed away giving her small room to turn around. "Where have you been all day, Cy said he had not seen you I was beginning to worry".Garfield rubbed the back of his neck, a nervous habit, "I was busy with work I am sorry to have worried you". She reached out and help his hands "No I just missed you". He stepped forward and brought their foreheads together just breathing in each others air. "My parents have made a decision" she said not moving away. "And what would it be this time"? "They said they are going to pick my suitor for me since I am very indecisive". Garfield snorted at that and took a step back "I know you must go so I will let you sweet dreams Rae". She smiled at him "I love you too. Sweet dreams Garfield".
Raven returned to her room and fell asleep thinking of her lover, just another day of lies and deceit.
