Chapter 2: The Party

"Garroth?"

          Aphmau's voice took me out of my shock. A cute boy, REALLY cute, stood in front of me. I shook my head. This couldn't be Garroth. He was so cute. What? How? When? Garroth smirked and bowed. "Would you, (y/n) allow me a dance?" He looked smug as he looked up at me. I felt heat rising to my face but forced it back down. He annoyed me. "You may." I said, offering him my hand. He swept me away into dance moves I didn't know but somehow didn't mess up on. I heard giggling and through the corner of my eye, I saw Aphmau and Zoey giggling together. Garroth swept me off my feet and I couldn't help but blush as he twirled me around.

          Laurance danced with me next. Afterward, I saw a man with black hair and a mask. I went over to Aphmau and asked who he was. "Zane." She said it with so much hatred it surprised me. Zane came up to me. Kissing my hand, he said, "May I have the honor of dancing with the new lady in town?" Curtsying, I smiled and said, "It would be my pleasure." He twirled me off into dance. I only stopped when I heard Garroth's voice. I turned and saw him staring in shock at something behind me. I turned around and saw it. A black mist coming out. Zane laughed.

          The mist came closer to me. Garroth's footsteps ran towards me. I turned as he tackled me to the floor. The mist encased us. I blacked out. 

*An unknown time later*

          I woke up with a warmth around my body. I opened my eyes. Garroth's arms were wrapped around me. I was numb. "Garroth?!" He groaned and opened his eyes. Shock filled his face and he scrambled up. "(y/n) Where are we?!" The panic was rising in his voice. "I just woke up, I don't know." 

          I looked at our surroundings. There was some sort of sand on the floor. Around that was black. I reached out to touch it, but Garroth grabbed my hand. "It looks dangerous." He said, dropping my hand.  I sat down on the floor and sighed. Garroth sat next to me. "We have to find a way out." He said. "How? That black stuff is probably our only chance and you won't let me touch it."

          He sighed and stood up. He went to where the black stuff was. Holding out his hand, fingers spread apart, he inched closer to the wall. I jumped up to watch, and his hand touched the stuff. But, it didn't touch it. It went right through the stuff. His eyes widened in shock. "Should I go through it?" I nodded and inched closer, my fingers outspread. My hand went right through.

          Garroth poked his head through the walls. He lurched forward, screaming. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back. He was frozen in shock, still screaming. I set him gently on the ground and sat down. I put my hand on his chest and relaxed.
