Chapter song: Contagious Chemistry by You Me At Six
Chapter 3-
I waited outside of the classroom for about thirty minutes, I knew from the hall clock, and Ryder exited the classroom, hitting my head with the door.
I winced and groaned at the headache that formed from the force of the door hitting the side of my head.
"I'm so sorry!" Ryder apologized.
His voice was husky now, more masculine and heart melting. I feel bad for all of the love struck girls that are in love with him.
"It's fine. Just a headache." I shrugged off his apology.
"Hey... you still wear that?" Ryder asked me softly, pointing at my dog tag necklace.
"Everyday." I told him as I entered the art classroom.
The door shut behind me and I sat down where I had sat before I left the room for Ryder and the professor to speak alone.
"Why do you think that you should get this scholarship?" The professor asked me.
Well here goes nothing.... I hope this goes well and he doesn't take it offensively.
"I think you should give Ryder the scholarship." I told him confidently.
"Okay, next ques- Wait what?! Why?!" The professor asked in shock.
I took a deep breath before answering and the headache started to get a lot better, thankfully.
"Ryder has wanted to be an art major since early elementary school. I can remember in kindergarten when it was career day. He dressed up as an artist, and he told me straight up that he wanted to be an artist. That's why Ryder should get the scholarship and not me." I explained to him.
Plus that and the fact that I could just pay my way into the art college... Ryder didn't come from a very wealthy family, and he needed this scholarship.
He deserved it more than me anyway. I never wanted to be an artist. I was an okay artist, but Ryder's art talents in second grade was better than my art talents now.
"Hey, I saw you this morning! You were singing in a black Mercedes!" The professor exclaimed.
The professor took out his iPhone and he showed me a video of me and Jackson singing our hearts out.
"Yeah, that's me and my brother Jackson. I love singing, I wanna try for a music scholarship and Jackson wants a football scholarship." I told him, with fondness in my voice for Jackson.
"You and him are amazing! Is your love of singing why you don't want an art scholarship?" The professor praised and asked.
"Yeah, it is. And because Ryder deserves the art scholarship more than I do." I replied.
I love music. I love listening to it. I love playing instruments. I play the acoustic guitar, the electric guitar, the bass guitar, the piano, the drums, the flute, the clarinet, the keyboard, and the electric keyboard.
"Well, I know a football scout from the best football and athletics college in the country that's looking for good football players! And I also know the headmaster for the best college for music. I can get the scout to come here for the next football game to take a look at Jackson. I'll ask the headmaster when the next game is. I can set you up with a phone call with the headmaster of the best music college. I'll send her the video on my phone." The professor said.
I gaped and no words came out of my mouth. I was too shocked. I had a chance to get into a music college! Jackson could get a scholarship for football! Ryder's gonna get an art scholarship!
