Recap :
As Mr. Stefano Del Vecchio, the 31 year old manager led them to the security control room behind the reception, Cara could not help noticing his Armani suit and the blue silk Yves Saint Laurent narrow tie; all perfumed with an irresistible Hugo Boss fragrance. The manager was definitely elegant and handsome too.
Two security employees, facing a wall full of screens, were already reviewing the recordings from the system's hard disk. Joe requested to see those of the lobby, the lifts and 31st floor's cameras for the last 24 hours. Cara was quietly looking around. In order to save time, they went into fast-forward with ten times the normal speed. They observed people coming in and out of the entrance, guests walking in the hallways of the 31st floor, but none were heading towards room 3109; until 3:16 PM, where the victim came in, followed a few minutes later by a man with a beard who knocked at her door, and forced himself in.
"Wait! This is the same guy I chased a while ago!" Cara suddenly shouted, "The one I bumped into while trying to enter from the back door; can we check the cameras there? ".

Liam, as his name tag read, did as he was told; and soon enough we were looking at a zoomed profile of the ebony haired suspect.
"I want the suspect's profile printed and diffused in journals and stations; don't let him leave NYC before we get to the bottom of this", Joe asked before thanking the manager and taking leave of him.
"Joe, you do realise he could have already left the city, right ? I mean I lost him at the train station and he could have jumped on any moving train and could be anywhere right now !", I said panicking as I followed him down the main entrance.
Joe stopped and turned towards me, taking me by the elbows, causing me to look into his deep hazel eyes.
"Don't worry, he wouldn't have gotten that far. Anyway, his profile is currently being sent to all the police and train stations all over the state... He won't be going anywhere; at least not on my watch" he said with determined eyes. Oh those beautiful melting eyes that shine like sunlight....
"Let's go grab some dinner shall we ?", offered Joe, interrupting my train of thoughts,"My treat".
I happily nodded my head and went along; still gazing at him. Stop it Cara ! You're only hurting yourself ! He would never like someone as stiff as you... I reminded myself.

- Third Person POV -
It was already 9:00 PM when Joe and Cara left the Waldorf, and decided to have dinner in Times Square. Around the table, and between delicious pizza bites, they discussed the events of the day.
"We have up till now three murders" She took her notebook out and read: "One: Mariana Cincuetti, mid-twenties, blonde, blue eyes, found on Brooklyn Bridge on the 14th of June with a burnt rose in her hair; Two: Sophia Fox, mid-twenties, blonde, blue eyes, found dead just outside Guggenheim museum, similarly strangled, this 28th of June, with a burnt rose in her hair; Three: Irina Yanckovich, mid-twenties, blonde, blue eyes, her head hit on a table and strangled to death in her hotel room, with a rose in her hair, on the 12th of July 2015. You see Joe; we have consistent patterns but no clue whatsoever nor any solid bases. Unless we add that the man is tall, fit and wears a beard, (probably a fake one)."
"You're right, we don't have much. We need to find more connections" said Joe.
"Maybe we should pin down the murder locations and try to define the killer's comfort zone." Cara suggested.
"You do that tomorrow while I go to the coroner's office to see if they've got something new to share" Joe said, paying the bill.

Next morning, Officer Lance passed by the Public Library on her way to the office. She intended to do some research about serial killings. She went through newspaper archives and specialized books. She even sought advice in the late Sigmund Freud works. At 11:15 AM, Cara decided to give up and head to the NYPD.
As soon as she got in, she went to the briefing room, which was arranged as a small conference room, with an overhead projector, a screen and a ten by six foot New York map on the side wall. She pinned the locations and came to the obvious conclusion that all three murders had taken place in the West side of New York. No big deal... She'll grab some coffee at Starbucks for Joe and herself before meeting up with him at the park to discuss things.
