Something New

Starting Out~Part 1

"Hey Em, you coming to Ernie's?" Gia asked, closing her locker door and turning to her best friend, Emma.

"Yeah, but first I'm going to the forest to see the Angel Star Butterfly. It only comes out on the hottest day of the year, which is today!" Emma excitedly replied, shaking her camera around in delight. "But don't get me anything. I'll get something when I get there."

"Oh Em. You've always loved nature," Gia whispered to herself, smiling. Gia and Emma turned opposite ways and walked away from each other, their long, silky hair flowing behind them.

Gia walked past the water fountain, where Jake was getting a drink while waiting for his best friend, Noah, to pack his things.

Jake looked up and saw Gia. He smiled, but tried to hide his delight from seeing his crush. Gia looked at him and smiled.

"Oh hey Jake. You and Noah wanna come with me and Emma to Ernie's?" Gia asked, looking into Jake's dark eyes. Gia had known Jake had liked her, but she'd never really liked him back. I mean, she found it cute and all how he tried to impress her but she'd never really liked him in that way. But she just finally gave in to him and gave him a kiss. She knew he would have liked that. But she's been hanging out with this other guy now, and she likes him better than Jake.

"YES!!!!!!" Jake said, smiling that his crush had asked HIM out. "Oh, I mean, yeah sure, why not?"

Noah walked out of Mr Burley's classroom and towards Gia and Jake. He saw Jake grinning and he smiled and shook his head.

"Oh man, what happened here? Gia's here and Jake's smiling. Did he finally ask her out?"

"Oh hey Gia! So what are we doing?" He cautiously smiled, hoping it wasn't anything bad.

Gia smiled. "Hi Noa......"

"Wanna come to Ernie's with me, Gia and Emma?" Jake interrupted, still smiling.

"Yeah sure." Noah nodded.

"Let's get going, then." Gia started walking towards the door and the 2 boys followed.

The boys knew where Emma was so they didn't bother asking. Noah looked at Jake. Jake noticed Noah and tilted his head. "What?"

Noah smiled. "Dude, did you finally ask her out?"

Jake sighed but continued to smile. "No, she asked me. I've tried to impress her but it just doesn't work out the way I want it to." Jake confessed.

"So that kiss meant nothing?" Noah asked, his smile faded. He remembered back to the day when they defeated the Armada alongside ALL of the past Rangers! And then when the Armada were defeated, the past rangers disintegrated into light balls and flew off into the universe. (It sounds crazy, right!) And Gia FINALLY gave in to Jake and gave him a kiss on the cheek! He was so proud of Jake, but he didn't know how long it took him to finally win Gia over.

"No, I guess not. Well, we haven't really talked about it after you know what. And she's been hanging with this other guy now." Jake looked down at his feet and sighed again. "I mean, the guy doesn't even try to get her attention and boom, Gia is hanging with him. But for me on the other hand, I have to work twice as hard to get her to even give me a smile!!!"

Noah silently laughed at Jake's anger. "Well maybe you just need to try 3 times as hard? I mean, she's sure to notice you sooner or later!"

They reached the door and pushed it open, revealing school buses and cars and stray beams of sunlight. A shout came from in front of them.

"Are you afraid of a monster or something, boys?! Hurry up!" It was Gia. The boys ran up to her and walked along side her.

They finally reached Ernie's and saw Troy and Orion, sitting at the first table.

"Hey guys!" Jake ran up to him and greeted them.

"Oh, hi. I was wondering when you guys were going to get here." Troy admitted.

"You took forever!!" Orion whined.

"It was the boys. They were scared of monsters coming to attack them." Gia teased, nudging Jake.

Orion and Troy laughed. Jake rolled his eyes and laughed with them. Suddenly, there was a beeping noise. They all knew what is was. Troy rummaged through his bag, finding his morpher at the bottom.

"Hi Tensou, we haven't seen you and Gosei for ages." Troy whispered. He kept his morpher in his bag but it was slightly out so he could here Tensou.

"Hi Troy! I know, it been ages!! But that's not what I called about. There's a monster attack down in the centre of the city. Do you still feel like taking the challenge?" Little Tensou asked.

"Phtt! Heck yeah we do! We're the...." Gia quickly put her hand over Jake's mouth before she heard the muffled words of 'Power Rangers' at the end. Gia took her hand away.

"Remember, strong but silent." Gia told Jake. Jake nodded and smiled, knowing he still might have a chance.

"I've told Emma and she said she would catch up with you guys." Tensou added. "Now quick!"

"Come on guys, let's go." Troy, Noah, Jake, Gia and Orion set off.
