peach // min yoongi

one; junior year

/peach

i was just getting off my shift at scott's, a locally owned grocery store that barely ever gets service anymore because of the new big store up the street. i bag groceries for hours on end, so it is a relief to finally get off. i am saving up for a car, so i still have to walk home...several blocks away.

i went to the back room and grabbed my coat and bag, and headed out the back door of the store. i started going in the direction of my house. i had gotten about a block away from the store, when all of a sudden, a boy with mint green hair had yelled for me from across the street.

"hey!"

i looked over at him with a confused look on my face. he then prepared to throw something at me. he threw it all the way across the street. i didn't attempt to catch it. it hit the ground, and exploded. i looked down at it, a peach?

"come on, you could have tried to catch it! i only have two left now," he yelled across the not-so-busy street.

i didn't reply, and i continued walking. about 30 seconds passed, and i heard,

"here! you better catch this one or i will be really upset!" he laughed, and chucked it.

i prepared to catch it, and i succeeded.

"i just bought these from you back at scott's. you didn't even look at me when you bagged my stuff, so you probably don't remember me," he laughed.

"why are you giving them right back?" i asked him.

he chuckled, "why not? you deserve something nice considering the low ass pay you get working up there,"

"it's not that bad," i said with low confidence.

"minimum wage...not that bad?" he laughed.

"why do you care?" i replied.

he didn't answer. "i am coming over!" he yelled, sprinting across the street, not even bothering to look both ways.

he began walking beside me, barely fitting on the narrow sidewalk.

"my mom warned me not to talk to strangers," i joked.

"i didn't expect you to remember me anyway," he laughed, looking down at the ground.

"where am i supposed to remember you from?" i asked, examining him.

"we went to school together...i dropped out junior year," he said quietly.

"oh, that was a few years back. what's your name?" i asked.

"min yoongi, we had chemis--"

"MIN YOONGI?!? YOU CHANGED SO MUCH!" i yelled, astonished. i stopped, dropped my bag, and turned yoongi towards me to inspect his face.

"you still have that same smile, something i can't forget," i said awkwardly.

he chuckled, "i don't remember smiling much in school."

"if you don't mind me asking, why did you drop out?" i asked him. there was a long pause.

"here," he said shoving my peach in my mouth. i took one bite, then he took it back, taking a bite as well.

we were beginning to get close to my house, we talked about how we have been the past few years. i didn't bother to ask about his decisions in dropping out again. we reached the front of my house, finally. he took out his phone and handed it to me, saying nothing. i grabbed it, seeing a "New Contact" screen. i looked back up at him, and shook my head smiling. i put in my name, sulli, followed by my number.

"i'll call you," he said, grabbing back his phone. he flashed a smile, and turned around to leave. he walked all the way down the street without looking back. no matter how creepy it sounds, i watched him walk until i couldn't see him anymore.

"i can't believe that is the min yoongi i used to sit by back in high school," i thought to myself.

that min yoongi occupied my mind the rest of the night.

A/N: hello! my name is kaylee. this is my first time writing a wattpad story, so i am hoping it wasn't that bad lmao. i am trying my best :)) i was planning on just making this a one part thing, but when i got to writing, i decided i wanted to continue adding to this story.

this story is inspired by a brief creative non-fiction story i read in ap language class at school, and by my favorite iu song "peach".

i named her sulli after the former f(x) member because i love the name and sulli :)))) but you don't have to picture her as sulli !!!!
