No Ordinary Creatures

Chapter 6

SLY'S POV

I heard chains rustling from inside the room. I took the key from Nova and started unlocking the door. 

"What are you doing?" Seamus asked harshly.  

"Helping him." I swung open the door to see Immortal locked up on the other side of the room. Ok not really Immortal. It was the same hair, same damn dude T-shirt. Same face. But his eyes were bright red. And he was looking at me almost pleading for help. He rested his head on the wall and closed his eyes shut. "Sly get our of here. Please" He breathed. "I don't know whats gonna happen." As he talked I could see the glint of fangs on top and bottom. "Please, I'm not like you guys." Then his expression changed. It was hunger. The look of a rabid animal. Ok probably time to get out. 

His features started to change. Slightly, that most people wouldn't be able to notice.  

"Immortal please I know you're in there."  

"No I'm out here. It's just the half that he was too scared to let out. Soon, I'll be the half that's always out. This is all me." He laughed. "I can't believe you thought these would be able to hold me." He flicked his one arm and the chains broke. He pulled the other one out of the wall. I made a B line for the door, but it closed suddenly. "No, little fox. I have more powers than you can dream of." I knew I had no choice. I started to change, faster than normal.  

"The more I come out. The more broken he becomes. The more broken he becomes, gives me room to shimmy through the cracks." I attacked him. He was still connected by his torso, so he had limited room. But he still had his hands, and wicked claws. He swiped at my shoulder. Digging in deep. Everyone was pulling at the door. To no avail. It took two guys to take him down, when he wasn't even fighting back.  

This was going to be a long day.

????'S POV

I padded through the forest. Looking for a trail. ANYTHING, to find the others. I ran, losing strength fast. Dodging twigs, and branches. That's when I saw it. Immortal's torn Nobs 4 Lyf shirt. I ran faster, running on only adrenaline. I changed, tripping in the process. Taking the red hat out of my mouth, I put it on, ready to see my friends again. 

Escaping the hunters was not easy. They grilled me for information, and I wouldn't give it. I may have had to maim most of them, but I had to protect my friends.  

I limped over to the front door. Leaning on the doorway. I pushed down the doorbell and waited for someone to open the door. No one did. I tried to tap into my hearing to see if anyone was home. 

The heart beats I heard were beating extremely fast as if they were terrified. One of them beating unnaturally fast. I kicked the door open, breaking the door frame in the process. I sprinted to the basement, where everyone was. I pushed past the people crowding the door.  

I kicked, forcing all of my strength into it. Making a hole in the door. I crawled through with surprising flexibility. I came into sly getting his ass kicked by Immortal. Or not Immortal. I didn't know.  

"Immortal!" I screamed in the most animal voice I could muster. He looked up at me. His eyes hungry and rabid. "Immortal listen to me. This isn't you. Fight it." His eyes softened. For a split second. Then he attacked me. I grabbed his arm about 2 inches from my face. He faltered and I took the opportunity, I round housed him on the side of the head. He hung limply from the chain that he was attached to. "God damn it, Immortal."  

"Kootra?" Sly asked weekly.  

"Hi." I said plainly, not knowing what to say. 

"KOOTRA!" he yelled, running up to hug me. Knocking my hat off in the process. Seamus and Nova came in next surprise covering their faces.
