I woke up to my alarm blaring; it startled me, because I’ve been on summer break so I haven’t woke up to an alarm in a while. I sat up in my bed and looked across the room at my sister, Lillian; she was still asleep, of course because nothing can wake her up. I sat there for a minute, then finally got the energy to get my big butt out of bed, I grabbed my phone and turned my alarm off, then went to the bathroom. I came out of the bathroom and saw she was still asleep, I walked over to her and said, ‘’Lily, Lily wake up, time for school.’’ But she didn’t even move, ‘’Lily if you don’t get your big booty out of this bed right now I’m gonna tell everyone how weird you are.’’ But still nothing, ‘’Oh my god Lilian Ann Wilson, get up right now or I’m going to tell Jason about your insane crush on him!’’ ‘’No don’t!’’ ‘’Yeah, that’s what I thought, you better start showing me some respect.’’ ‘’Respect my butt, I’m older than you.’’ ‘’Come on, you’re older than me by 2 days.’’ ‘’ Just get ready, okay.’’ ‘’You’re telling me,’’ she gave me a shut up or die look, I took the hint. ‘’What do I wear, I wanna look good for Jason.’’ ‘’Oh I know, wear a tiny mini skirt, a half shirt, and a pair of black leather boots that go up to your knees, that’ll impress him.’’ ‘’Oh that’s a great idea, even the pedophiles across the street will be impressed.’’ ‘’I know, I’m so smart.’’ ‘’Oh, my sister is crazy.’’ ‘’But you love me.’’ ‘’No, I just want to make you feel loved,’’ and she gave me a sympathetic look. ‘’Shut up, butthead.’’ I went to my closet and grabbed a pair of black jeans and a baggy t-shirt, and went to the bathroom. I came out and saw Lily with a pair of black skinny jeans, and a pink t-shirt that said Love Pink, ‘’Are those mine!’’ ‘’Um, yeah.’’ ‘’Why are you wearing my clothes!’’ ‘’Because, I don’t have anything to wear.’’ I gave her a seriously look, ‘’Fine.’’ ‘’Thanks.’’ ‘’Come on, we need to eat, and get to the bus.’’ ‘’Ok, can you do my hair?’’ ‘’What do you want me to do?’’ ‘’A fish tail braid.’’ ‘’Fine.’’ When I finished I was surprised at how good it looked. ‘’Thanks Dani.’’ ‘’Your welcome, it looks good.’’ ‘’Do you want me to do your hair?’’ ‘’No, we don’t have much time.’’ ‘’Ok, let’s go, I need to see Jase, badly,’’ I laughed at how she said it. ‘’Then let’s go, it’s not the first day of 5th grade every day.’’ ‘’Yeah, that’s what I’m talking about, let’s go.’’ We got to the bus stop just in time; the bus came around the corner as we got there. We got on the bus, I saw we had a new person on the bus; we got to our seats that happened to be right across from him. ‘’Lily, we have a new person,’’ I whispered. ‘’We do?’’ ‘’Yeah, look.’’ ‘’Oh, we do.’’ ‘’Well, say hi.’’ ‘’No you say hi.’’ ‘’Fine.’’ I looked over at him, he was kinda cute, and that made me nervous to talk to him, ‘’Excuse me.’’ He looked at me, and said ‘’Yeah.’’ ‘’Are you new, at this school?’’ ‘’Yeah.’’ ‘’Whats your name?’’ ‘’Tyler.’’ ‘’Oh, I’m Danielle, you can call me Dani, and this is my sister Lilian, you can call her Lily, what grade are you?’’ ‘’I’m 5th, in Mrs.Jackson's class.’’ ‘’Oh, we’re in the same class.’’ ‘’Oh, really?’’ ‘’Yeah.’’ ‘’Cool.’’ ‘’We could show you around, if you want right Lily?’’ Lily looked at me, and then to Tyler, ‘’Yeah, if you want.’’ ‘’Yeah, that would help.’’ The bus stopped and Lily said, ‘’Oh my god, this is his stop.’’ ‘’Lily, stop freaking out, you’re gonna scare someone.’’ ‘’Shut up, Danielle, it’s not like you have a crush you haven’t seen in 2 months, you don’t understand.’’ ‘’Yeah, cause no one here is cute.’’ ‘’Move, let me sit next to him.’’ ‘’Are you seriously gonna sit next to him?’’ ‘’Just move.’’ I got up and she moved out of the seat to another one, surprisingly, he sat next to her. ‘’Hey Tyler, why don’t you sit next to Danielle and keep her company.’’ ‘’I highly doubt he wants to sit next to me,’’ but to my surprise, he moved next to me. ‘’Why did you move,’’ I asked him. ‘’Well its better than sitting alone, I mean, I’ll move if you wanna sit alone.’’ ‘’No, it’s ok.’’ It was quiet for a minute but then he broke the silence, ‘’so, is Lilian your only sister?’’ ‘’Yeah, it’s just me and her, what about you?’’ ‘’No, I’m all alone.’’ I laughed, and I said, ‘’what school did you go to before?’’ ‘’I went to Nichols Hills, in the city.’’ ‘’Oh, the city, I bet that was fun,’’ I said sarcastically. He laughed, ‘’Yeah, I hate the city, a bunch of stupid rich kids.’’ ‘’Yeah, same here.’’ The bus stopped at the school, ‘’Well, do you want me to show you around?’’ ‘’Yeah, I might get lost.’’ ‘’Oh no, we wouldn’t want that now would we,’’ he laughed. We got off the bus and I took him into the auditorium, ‘’Ok, in the morning you come in here and if you want to eat you put your backpack in your line, which is this one,’’ I showed him his line, ‘’And go get in line to eat, and if you don’t need to eat, then you come outside and walk, which is where I’m going, so, where are you going?’’ ‘’I’m going with you.’’ ‘’Ok, come on,’’ and I took him outside and showed him where we walk. ‘’Ok, so why do we walk in the morning?’’ ‘’You tell me,’’ he laughed. Then out of nowhere my reading buddy last year and her best friend ran up to me, ‘’Danielle, we missed you!’’ ‘’Hi Hannah, hi Anna, this is Tyler,’’ I pointed at Tyler. ‘’Hi Tyler,’’ they said. ‘’Can we walk with you?’’ ‘’Yeah, sure,’’ they grabbed my hand. ‘’Who are they,’’ Tyler asked. ‘’Oh, they’re my old reading buddies.’’ ‘’Oh.’’ Then I felt a pair of hands on my hips, I stopped walking, and my reading buddies let go of my hands, ’’Guess who,’’ I heard a voice say in my ear, and I knew exactly who it was. ‘’Edward, what do you want?’’ ‘’Oh, baby, whats wrong, I thought you would be happy to see me.’’ ‘’Why would I be happy to see you?’’ ‘’Cause, you love me.’’ I wiggled out of his grasp, and turned to him, ‘’I don’t love you, I don’t like you, I hate you and you know that, it’s never gonna happen between us, get over it,’’ the look in his face scared me. ‘’Oh, I see, over the summer you go get a short, ugly boyfriend, I see.’’ I looked at Tyler, he looked very angry, ‘’You hardly have any room to talk, your far from cute, and he’s not short, you have no right to talk about him like that, you don’t know him, and no, we’re not dating.’’ ‘’Ok, but I’ll get what I want someday, I can make you happy.’’ ‘’Oh, get over yourself Eddy,’’ I said as he walked off. ‘’What was that, oh my god, that was hilarious,’’ he said laughing. ‘’Don’t pay attention to him, he’s a stupid 6th grader, he doesn’t really mean what he said about you.’’ We started walking. ‘’Oh, ok.’’ ‘’We have to go Danielle, bye,’’ Hannah and Anna said. ‘’Ok, bye guys.’’ ‘’So, now what.’’ ‘’Well, how about we ask each other random questions?’’ ‘’Ok, um, what’s your favorite color?’’ ‘’Purple, you?’’ ‘’Red.’’ ‘’What is your favorite animal?’’ ‘’Dog.’’ ‘’Horse and dog.’’ ‘’Um, what’s your-’’ he got cut off by a teacher calling 5th grade. ‘’Oh we gotta go now.’’ ‘’Oh ok.’’ ‘’Hold on, where’s Lily?’’ He looked around for a minute, ‘’she’s over there.’’ ‘’I should have known she was with him.’’ ‘’Who’s that, her boyfriend?’’ ‘’She wishes, she has an insane crush on him.’’ We walked into the auditorium and got our backpacks, ‘’Where do we go?’’ ‘’We go to our class, I think.’’ ‘’You don’t know?’’ ‘’I remember now, we go to class.’’ We walked in silence, we got to the door and he opened it for me, ‘’Thanks,’’ I said. We walked in and Mrs.Jackson was sitting in her chair, ’’Hello, you must be Danielle, and you’re Tyler?’’ ‘’Yes ma’am.’’ ‘’Yes, your seats are right over there, your books are sitting on your desks.’’ When I saw that we sit next to each other, I screamed on the inside, I don’t know why I like him, I guess he’s kinda cute. Lilian walked in a few minutes after we did with Jason, Mrs.Jackson told her to come sit in front of me, and Jason to sit next her, and her face turned so red, I thought she was dying, and Jason saw it too, and he laughed, and I have a feeling that he knows she likes him and he likes her back. ‘’Hey Danielle, hey Tyler,’’ Lily said. ‘’Hey, what were y’all doing.’’ ‘’Uh, we were, uh, catching up, yeah.’’ ‘’Yeah, sure.’’ ‘’Oh no, we were off kissing somewhere,’’ she gave me a serious look, ‘’I’m kidding, but seriously, what did you think we were doing?’’ I winked at her when no one was looking, ‘’Oh my god Danielle,’’ she whisper yelled. ‘’Shhh, someone’s gonna hear you.’’ I saw Lily look from me to Tyler and back again several times, then she gasped. ‘’What, what happened Lily?’’ She looked around her desk, then ripped a piece of paper off her notebook, and scribbled something down, I grabbed it and it said. he likes you, omg ;) ‘’What, no he doesn’t, nobody likes me,’’ I whispered the last part. ‘’Yes he does, it’s obvious, ’’she said it like it was just so obvious. ‘’No he doesn’t, prove it.’’ She grabbed the paper again and wrote something else down, it said. Why would he move next to you on the bus the first day of school, and why would he walk around with you in the morning. Hahaha, I got you didn’t I ‘’Because, I was showing him what to do in the morning, duh.’’ ‘’Ok, but what about on the bus?’’ ‘’I don’t know, ok, he doesn’t like me.’’ ‘’Whatever, you’ll see,’’ I rolled my eyes. Once everyone was in class Mrs.Jackson went to the front and introduced herself, and asked us a few questions about what we did over the summer, then Connor said, ’’Can we go outside since it’s the first day of school?’’ ‘’Actually, I was just about to say that.’’ ‘’Oh awesome,’’ Connor said, ‘’can we go now. ‘’Yeah, sure,’’ Mrs.Jackson replied. All the boys except Jason and Tyler ran out the door, Jason was waiting for Lily, and Tyler looked over at me. ‘’Well come on guys, let’s go do something,’’ I said. ‘’Jason, Tyler and Lily stood up and we walked outside, ‘’what do you wanna do,’’ Jason asked. ‘’Let’s play tag.’’ Everyone said 1-2-3 not me, Lily was the last one to say it. We were outside for about an hour until Mrs.Jackson called us in, and in that time Lily tagged Davy a million times. When we got to our seats Lily passed me a note. Told you he likes you, you were like the only person he ever tagged, BOOM, TOLD YA ‘’So, I’m like the only person he knows here, BOOM.’’ ‘’Oh my gosh, whatever.’’ The day went pretty fast, Lily kept pointing out reasons why he likes me, I ignored them. When Mrs.Jackson said that the bus riders can leave me, Jason, Lily and Tyler walked together. When we got there our bus was already there, Lily and Jason sat together, and that forced me to sit next to Tyler, another thing for Lily to point out. We were the first people to get dropped off, Jason said his goodbyes, and so did Tyler, that was unexpected. I expected Lily to give me a lecture about how and why Tyler likes me, I was right. We walked into our bedroom, ‘’Oh my god Dani, listen to me, look me in the eyes, he likes you, I know boys and that one likes you, trust me.’’ ‘’Ok, whatever.’’ ‘’Your so stubborn, if someone told me he liked me I would believe it.’’ ‘’He likes you.’’ ‘’No he doesn’t.’’ ‘’See, you didn’t believe.’’ ‘’That didn’t count,’’ we both laughed. ‘’Oh I wish.’’ ‘’Oh my bajezzus, do you like him!?’’ ‘’Did I say that out loud?’’ ‘’Answer the question!’’ ‘’Ok, I don’t know why but I do, this is gonna sound strange but, when I saw him I felt different, I could barely talk to him, I felt like nothing was gonna come out when I talked, I’ve never felt like this before, ever.’’ ‘’Oh my god, oh my god, I have to tell someone!’’ ‘’No!’’ ‘’Oh fine, jezz.’’ ‘’We won’t tell anyone, right?’’ ‘’Ok.’’ ‘’Alright, I’m gonna take a shower.’’ ‘’Ok, me too, I’ll use the one in the hallway.’’ ‘’Ok.’’ When I got out of the shower Lily was asleep, so I went to bed. I woke up at 2:34 from a dream, I was in the field behind my house lying in the grass with Tyler, and we just laid there staring into each other’s eyes until it got dark and started raining. Then I got up and I was dancing in the rain and he came behind me and put his arms around me, spun me around and kissed me lightly, when he pulled away he stared into my eyes. I want that to be real so bad, but no matter what Lily, or anyone tells me, I know he doesn’t like me, and it hurts knowing that.
