Sapphire sat in her usual position on a bench in Town Square. She always sat in a kind of headstand position with her legs propped up on the bench seat. She always sat that way. She didnt know why, but she did. She was about to close her eyes and drift off to sleep when she heard a voice calling her name. She looked up to see her 10 year old brother, Gem, running torwards her.
"Hey Sis!" he yelled out to her. "Can we go to the beach?!"
Sapphire sat up normally in the seat.
"I guess so, I haven't been there in a while."
"Yay!" He exclaimed.
They gathered their things and went to the port to get the next boat to the island. She sat out in the sun while Gem marveled at the dolphins swimming alongside the boat. Soon they arrived at the island they set their stuff down in the small cabin and relaxed. Sapphire worked on one of those really detailed sandcastles that were hard to make while Gem played on the other side of the small island. About an hour later Sapphire was almost about to be done with the castle when she heard screams from where Gem was playing. She looked over and Gem was struggling to escape the grasp of two large men in black. Sapphire got up out of the sand but by the time she got there, all she could see through the thick fog around the island was the last of the black ship setting out to sea.
"GEEM!" She called out through tears. She got up and started to run to her bag and her phone, but the ground suddenly opened up beneath her, and she tripped into a fall down torward the ocean. The last thing she saw was a peak of rock on the way down, then blackness.
