It was a cold night and you were lying down in your bed, curling up underneath the warm covers. You hugged your body pillow close to your chest and sighed softly.

Tick

Tock

The sound of clock ticking on the wall seemed to be getting louder and louder in your ears. It was unpleasant, being forced to listen to the same rhythm, but you brushed it off.

"It's been a while, huh, Levi?" You asked softly with your eyes still closed.

"Hm?"

"The last time I saw you was two months ago, remember?"
There was a brief silence between the two of you before Levi made a small hum as a yes.

"You promised that you would come home after a month.." You trailed off, a small frown starting to curve your small lips.

Levi turned to face you and sighed. 'This talk again?' He thought to himself.

Yes, you've been asking the same question and talking about this topic since two months ago and it was starting to get on Levi's nerves. He thought you had forgiven him and forgotten about it.

But no. The fact that Levi hadn't come home for two months bothered you to no end.

"(Y/n), we've talked about this," the male spoke up, tiny bits of annoyance in his voice, "I had to go for an important mission. You know I have to follow his or-"

"You promised to come back.."

"(Y/n), listen-"

You started to sob as tears fell down to your cheeks. "I really miss you, Levi.."

Levi widened his eyes when he saw you cry right in front of him and felt guilty for making you cry.

It was his fault that you cried.

As Levi reached out his hand to wipe those tears away, he froze for a few moments; eyes widening in shock and disbelief.

He forgot

"Levi, I really miss you.." You managed to say in between your choked sobs.

He forgot
that he couldn't hug you.

"Why did you leave me alone..?"

He forgot
that he couldn't touch you.

"You really shouldn't have gone to that stupid mission.."

He forgot
that he was living somewhere else now.

"Why.."
