It has been a pretty grueling summer here in the muggle dwelling of Spinner's End. Now that spring has come, I am able to walk safely to the park next to Lily and Petunia's house. Lily....there are not many words I can use to describe lily, simply because there are not many words in the English language to describe her perfection. Today is the day I enroll in Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Lily is also enrolling in Hogwarts. When I arrive at Hogwarts, we are rushed to the sorting ceremony. It is silent when they place the sorting hat on my head, and a low and raspy voice calls out "SLYTHERIN". Sadly I'm in the rival house of Gryffindor, the house lily was placed in. My first class...Potions. This should be easy. I take my seat. The professor introduces himself and asks the first question, "Does anyone know what Amortentia is?" My hand shoots up. "Amortentia is the world's strongest Love potion. It does not create real love, just a powerful obsession." Then in a mocking voice a boy says " It does not create true love!" Then the boy sitting next to him chimes in. "Just a strong Obsession!" These boys go by the names of James Potter and Sirius Black. Everybody explodes with laughter. I am absolutely mortified. I hope Lily does not think less of me! When I leave class I take a different way than everyone else, as to avoid confrontation, but despite my careful planning I run into James and Sirius. "Hey. Mudblood!" said James. "Yeah! Hey Mudblood, Where you going Mudblood?" uttered Sirius. Then surprisingly, Lily comes to my defense. "Hey back off You two! If you are going to call Severus that derogatory term, then you are going to have to call me the same!" The look on James and Sirius' faces were of utter shock as they left the corridor. "Hey, don't let them throw you around like that!" Lily said and then she left just like that. I had always had a strong admiration for Lily, but it was in this moment that something grew within me...an unconditional love for Lillian Potter.
