Alex's POV
Reim has promised me to help me with my ice ability. I shook my head as I walked down the hall, bumping into Kestrel.
"Hey!" She smiled. It's been so long since I saw her smile. It looks like an angel looking into my soul and granting life. I stepped forward and kissed her. As unexpected it might be, I can tell that's what she needs. When we were done, I asked her:
"How's Ring?"
"Worse, there is not a single minute that he isn't drunk." Kestrel sighed. I put my left hand on her shoulder and said "We can go see him."
"But-" she started. But I took her by her arm and left to find Ringo.
<some time later>
We went down a hallway and saw a boy and a girl talking about something. The boy was a high schooler, I guess. And so was the girl.
"You sure it's what we are looking for?" The girl asked. Peering over at a amulet that the boy is holding.
"Yeah... This is it. Come on!" He put the amulet in his pocket and bumped into me.
"Oh... Sorry." He stared at me. For some reason, we look alike.
"It's alright..." I shrugged and left. But not after another quick glance.
"You know, he looks like you." Kestrel giggled.
"Be quiet..." I insulted playfully. We came across a strong alcohol smell. It was so strong that me and Kestrel covered our noses. We saw Ringo lying on a bench, passed out.
"God... What do we do?" Kestrel sighed. I took out a small bottle and sipped it into Ringo's mouth.
"It's okay. I just gave him a dreamless potion. It also cures any alcoholic person." I replied before Kestrel could even say anything.
"Come on, let's get outta here. It smells like someone just puked here." Kestrel groaned. We made our way back to the main entrance. Where we found Reim sitting there, drinking tea.
"You're here! Ahh... Alright. Let us come to the frost cave..." Reim smiled. I gently kissed Kestrel's cheek and left with Reim. He led me into a frost cave where nearly everything is frozen and he sat down.
"Alright... Now let me ask you something. Have you ever saw blue flames?" He asked.
"Yeah... I see it at restaurants and barbecues..." I started, but he cut me off.
"No... No... I meant, natural flames."
"Then... No..."
"Very well. We shall unlock what we will call binding of the elements. Fire is something that provides heat, while ice represents coldness. But if we unlock your true power, we shall use fire to cool, and ice to heat." Reim smiled. I nodded and sat down.
"Now... Close your eyes. Empty your mind and store nothing in it... You will feel the ice take over you once you have done so..." Reim whispered. I felt cold, then colder, then colder...

BANG
I felt as if someone set fire on my body. It felt weird. As if someone ignite me with ice. It wasn't ice or fire, however. It was frost burn. Burning someone with ice. I woke up in a dark dimension and a dark staff in front of me.

"Can you do it? SHOO?" A boy with a orb in his hands chuckled. I stepped forward, not knowing what to do. The staff was a dark object, but I felt nature's presence inside of this staff. I panicked. If I touch it, I will be infected with dark magic. But if I don't, I will be stuck in this dimension forever! The boy chuckled again and vanished. What did he mean by "Shoo?" Sighing, I grabbed the staff. Fire and ice presence flow inside me and dark magic also shot inside me... Then everything went dark...

"Hey! Wake up!" A soft voice called. I opened my heavy eyes and saw that boy again.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"It does not matter right now. What matters is that you understand the meaning of ice..." The voice echoed in my head.
"Meaning of ice...?" I thought.
"Why is this world made of feelings? Why do elements represents our passion for our feelings?" The soft voice asked. "Fire means passion... Bravery... Love..."
"Ice... What..." I bit my lip. If fire meant love, passion, and bravery, then ice means...
"Determination... Strong... Protection..." The soft voice echoed again.
"What about Nature?" I thought. If all the pieces fall into place, then it meant-
"Caring... Life... Happiness..." Those words escaped my mouth without my thinking. Suddenly, a binding light shot out of nowhere as I slowly regained my sanity...
"Are you awake?" Reim asked me. I rubbed my eyes and nodded.
"Did you hear the meaning of the elements?" He asked again. I nodded once more. It was confusing, however, it all made sense if you put the puzzle pieces together.
"Who's going to teach me life?" I asked.
"Petal. She will tell you the meaning and purpose of our existence. But we must go..." He turned around and I nodded.
We walked back to the common room where we saw a horrific sight...
