~Prologue~
Elsewhere, Kentucky, 1978
It was a cold stormy night in Elsewhere, Kentucky. No one really knew if there were going to be floods or anything. Not much people lived in Elsewhere. No one did the news, no one ran stores. It was just a small old town that no one really knew about since it wasn't found on maps or anywhere. There were at most 4 people who lived there and it was one family. A mother, father, and two twin sisters.
The parents always abuse the sisters. They didn't really care for them.
In the dark one story house was yelling and crying between the parents and the daughters. A loud smack across both the sisters face echoed through the house. Small sobs came from the sister.
"Room now." Their mother, Mary Bower, yelled pointing to their room. As the two sisters go to their room the two parents whisper to each other.
"I don't know what to do with Lydia and Linda anymore." Mary said to the father quietly. They stand there silently for a while.
"Get rid of them." The father, Deacon Bower, suggested. "They were our worst mistake anyway." He shrugs. "So we should just get rid of them tonight."
A couple minutes later the two parents walk to Lydia and Linda's room dragging axes along the floor. They open the door and walk in. The two sisters awake at the sound of the axes dragging on the floor. As the sisters hug each other tightly the parents stop. They gesture the girls to stand up and come close. The girls do. Tightly holding on to each other's hand they close their eyes and gulp.
As the parents walk closer to them they whisper the girls' names. When they got closer they bring the axes up.
