Pokemon Story {Pokemon One-Shot}

The light-blue Pokemon stared at the larger Pokemon with wide eyes. Fear slowly sinking its fangs into her heart as she flattened her long, pointed ears. She knew well that the Pokemon belonged to the Swellows, her brother's gang rival. It was a huge mistake to leave her team just to take a drink by the river, and worst, she had met a member of the Swellows.

The Glaceon knew that she stood no chance against the Luxio. He was obviously larger, stronger, and more powerful than her. But what she didn't know was that he meant no harm. Even though the Spark Pokemon was one of the Swellows, he had a soft and kind heart. Sadness flashed in his eyes when he realized that the Eeveelution was actually afraid of him. He placed a paw in front of the other, slowly as not to frightened her. "I'm not here to hurt you," he said.

"Stay away," the Glaceon hissed. She stepped back, not realizing that she had reached the very edge of the river bank. One more step, and she will be gone, swept away by the current.

"You shouldn't step any farther," the Luxio tried to warn, but the Ice-Type paid no heed at all. To the Luxio's horror, she moved a hind leg back. One second, she was still there, glaring at him; the other, she was gone. The Luxio rushed to where the Glaceon had stood, and searched for any signs of her. He spotted the Glaceon's head breaking out from the surface of the water, but she was soon swallowed up by the fierce current again.

Without thinking, Luxio charged alongside the river bank, his golden eyes constantly searching for the Fresh Snow Pokemon. Once again, he saw her head bobbed up from the water. And this time, he leaped, diving into the freezing cold river. The Luxio's body was immediately pushed by the force of the flowing water. He held his breath, padding his large paws to swim up the surface. For the strong Pokemon, it wasn't such a hard task, but that couldn't be said the same for little Glaceon. He sucked in a deep breath before splashing his head into the water, looking around.

Then he saw her - a limp body flowing along the water. He grabbed her by the scruff and swamp towards the shore. He placed both of his front legs on the ground, making sure to dig his claws in for greater support. Then, with one pull, he heaved the Glaceon up and her body dropped onto the ground with a thud. The fall had somehow inserted pressure against her ribs, pushing the air and water out of her lungs. She chocked and coughed, spitting out water and gasping for air as her petite body trembled from the trauma.

Despite being an Ice-Type, she started to shiver from the cold. She was thoroughly drenched, and that did not help at all. She snapped her head to the side when the Luxio hauled the rest of his body onto dry land. After shaking the water out of his fur, he studied her with genuine concern, and this puzzled her. "Why did you save me?" she asked, her voice was weak and soft.

"Do you need a reason to save a life?" the Luxio asked back, smiling. The Glaceon shook her head and stared on the ground. She curled her body up, trying to block out the cold. Suddenly, the cold was no more and she felt warm all over. She lifted her head and almost squealed when she saw that the Luxio had laid beside her, wrapping his body around her to provide warmth. His actions had tugged something in her heart, but she didn't know what.

"Tha-- Thank you..." she blurted.

The Luxio's lips pulled back into a smile. It made the Glaceon blush and her heart fluttered in her chest. She quickly looked away, not wanting to meet his gaze. "You're one of the Sharpedos, right?" he asked.

There was a moment of hesitation before she replied, "Yeah..."

"I wonder why do they always fight." What the Luxio had just said took her by surprise. She turned to stare at him, but he was looking at the other direction.

"You do know that they are fighting for territory, right?" she asked carefully.

"Yeah, but-- They can just share it. Easy."
