"Oooh!", gasped a chorus of over excited seventeen and eighteen year olds, as the coach descended another mountain, giving us a view of the stunning scenery ahead. A beautiful mountain range covered in snow, filled the horizon in front of us. The peaks rising and falling far into the distance. In the valley below, a large, eerily still lake reflected the crests of the mountains and the cloudy sky threatening snow above us like a mirror. Surrounding the lake were large ever green trees creating patches of vast and dense forest, which crept up the sides of the mountains, like thin, bony fingers grasping out in desperation.
"Oh my God, this trip is going to be so amazing!", exclaimed Melanie above the raucous buzzing of eager students.
"I Know!", I answered, getting a short, sharp, thrill, twist in my stomach at the thought of the exciting two weeks ahead. An activities week in Canada, which was a reward trip for the whole of 6th form. A trip which included skiing, snowboarding, trekking across the mountains, exploring the forests and many other exhilarating activities. A trip of a lifetime. Not to mention checking out the Canadian guys, which I'm sure they didn't put on the all inclusive list, but they were definitely on Melanie's, Caitlin's and mine and pretty much every other female on this trip.
I gazed out the window. Small snowflakes began to fall from the sky in a light flurry. I smiled to myself. Already the journey had been a bit of an adventure, especially for me. It had been the first time I'd ever been on a plane, and I can tell you, it wasn't as bad as I thought. Although, I have to admit the turbulence was a little frightening. However, we landed safely and were now on the highway which would lead us straight to our home for the next two weeks. Lake Louise. I'd seen pictures of it on the internet and the scenery looked beautiful. I closed my eyes and envisioned the exciting two weeks ahead.
"I still can't actually believe we're here! In Canada! Oh wow! You just know it's gonna be such an adventure", I declared
"I know right!" Shrieked Caitlin, her light brown curls bounced uncontrollably, mirroring her excitement, "the snowboarding"
"The skiing", piped up Melanie
"And don't forget" they both paused and looked at each other mischievously "the hot guys!" they screamed together, doing fanning motions with their hands melodramatically as if they were going to fall faint any second.
"Okay girls!" Yelled Mr Nokes "calm down! That's enough of that thank you"
Melanie and Caitlin settled back down in their seats giggling. We all smirked at each other and bit back laughter.
"Tut tut" I smiled jokingly
"Ohhh and as if you weren't laughing too!" Replied Caitlin
"Maybe if you were more discreet he wouldn't have heard" I whispered
"Oh you don't know me at all do you" she giggled glancing between me and Melanie, who was struggling to keep it together "Me? Discreet? Never!"
Silence. Then we exploded into laughter.
"I said, that's enough girls!" Shouted Mr Nokes.
Melanie and I averted our faces and Caitlin bit her lip trying her best not to laugh, but she couldn't resist. Mr Nokes hadn't even managed to turn his head 180 degrees before her laugh erupted from her throat once more.
"Sounds like someone's on their man period" she wheezed
"That's it, I've had it!" He bellowed, standing up abruptly, making the kid in front jump awake "Right!"
Everyone on the coach went silent.
"From now on this coach stays in silence until we reach our destination, do you understand?"
