Charlie moves back against the pillow of the sofa, Emma's eyes wearily yet intensely on him. It makes the atmosphere slightly uneasy to say the least.
He hisses as Louise dabs at his cut lip, the boy's arms cradling his bruised stomach in response to the pain, not wanting to be hurt anymore than he already is.
It's been two hours and he woke up after an hour and a half or so. He seemed almost lost at waking up, not knowing what on earth had happened or how he came to be here. Louise did manage to calm him down after a few minutes though. Emma just observed.
"Stop moving, it's only a tiny cut." Louise scolds, grabbing Charlie's jaw securely and tilting his head so she can get to the injuries around his face, making sure not to be too rough.
"Who did this to you?""Probably did it to himself. Attention seeker." Emma scoffs, her arms crossed as she's slumped in the opposite sofa.
Charlie raises an eyebrow and nearly laughs. "You think I would do this to myself? Who's attention could I possibly crave enough to make myself pass out?!" He exclaims, whimpering when moving a little too fast, his ribs feeling as if they're cracking against one another. Every movement is painful.
"Phil's." Emma simply answers and then walks out the room, leaving Louise to sigh and pull away from the injuries.
She sees on Charlie's face how much help he really needs. And sure, Louise doesn't know him as well as everyone else, but she's heard what he done in the past. That's all it is though, the past.
With a weak smile, she can only gently take Charlie's wrist that's been twisted a little as an ankle would, so it's nothing serious. But she does get a bandage and wrap it tightly around, just to secure the movement.
"Who actually done this to you, Charlie? I know you don't know me well, but I just want to help." She questions softly, pinning the bandage ends together with a safety pin.
He shakes his head, being stubborn.
Louise knows she can't do much else and nods, closing the first aid kit and standing up, walking out the room to find Emma most likely.
Charlie watches as she leaves before slumping back into the sofa, hunched over and head still slightly spinning. His wrist burns and the smallest twitch of movement causes pain. He's dealt with worse though so it's not the end of the world. He just can't remember much about what happened. All he knows is that he was very high and very emotionally unstable. Nothing else really makes sense after that.
He knows it wasn't the best idea coming to Emma for help, but according to his high mind, it was his only choice.
Emma's sat leaning against the wall in the hallway, with her head in her hands, thoughts rushing throughout her mind. She's trying to comprehend whether she should be civil with Charlie. They used to be close, like siblings. That was before all that crap happened with Dan and she never forgave Charlie for what he did.
She knows about Charlie's fondness for Phil and will make sure that Phil is kept safe, even if Charlie's actions are only justified by a platonic friendship.
Louise spots Emma and goes to sit beside her, glancing towards the front room where she left Charlie a few moments ago.
"I think he does need help." Louise say's softly, looking to Emma who stares at the opposite hallway wall. "Maybe, he just needs a friend."
"He's Charlie Skies. He doesn't deserve friends." Emma resorts, her facial expressions staying neutral.
"Everyone deserves a friend, Em. Even him. He might have change--"
