There are 36 white keys on a keyboard. And 25 black keys. There are 15 spaces between the white keys that have black keys. But what about the 10 spaces with no black keys? Every note can be flat, natural, or sharp. So why is there not a black key in every space? Are the empty spaces not special enough? Not worthy?
Or are they too special? Does their own splendor isolate them? Are the black keys not worthy of them? Maybe the empty spaces are so magnificent the Universe can't think of a trophy glorious enough for them. So for now they remain empty and forgotten until a young musician notices how special they truly are.
