Stonestar's Story

Chapter 7

Stonepaw saw Ferntail by the Fresh Kill Pile. She walked over.
"Hello, Stonepaw." Ferntail said.
"Hi Ferntail! Are we going on a patrol today?" Stonepaw asked excited.
"Well, actually I have news for you!"
        "What?" Stonepaw asked.
        "I'm becoming a queen!" Ferntail blurted out.
        "Really?! That's great! Who's your mate?" Stonepaw asked.
        "Whiskernose." Ferntail said, her eyes sparkling.
        "Wait...but doesn't this mean you can't be my mentor?" Stonepaw asked starting to feel saddened.
         "Well...yes...Fawnstar said she was going to find you a new mentor soon! For now you can train with Fangpaw. You two seem to be good friends!" Ferntail said.
         "Yeah...but I still wish you were my mentor." Stonepaw said.
         "Don't worry. I'm sure your new mentor will be almost as good as me!" Ferntail joked. Stonepaw smirked. "Now go train."
"Okay..." Stonepaw said. She padded away to find Fangpaw. She saw them in a clearing. She walked over. "Hi Fangpaw. Hi Flametail."
"Hello Stonepaw." Flametail said."Your here to train with us correct?"
"Yes." Stonepaw said. Fangpaw hopped over excited.
"I'm so excited! Let's train!" She said.
"Yes, it's time to learn the back kick." Flametail said.
"Oh! I know that move!" Stonepaw said. She demonstrated the back kick, almost perfectly.
"That was great but you should work on your landing." Flametail said. Stonepaw nodded. She and Fangpaw continued to work on their back kick until the moon was rising. They walked back to camp. Stonepaw was greeted by Featherpaw.
"Hi Stonepaw! I heard about Ferntail." He said. He sounded    sympathetic. Stonepaw shrugged.
"Its not a big deal. At least shes happy." She said.
"So...how was training?" Featherpaw asked.
"Good I guess...I can't land when I try my back kick." She said. Featherpaw shrugged.
"You'll figure it out." Featherpaw reassured her. Stonepaw sighed. Her stomach growled. She walked to the Fresh Kill Pile. Featherpaw picked out a small mouse. Stonepaw saw a squirrel. Her favorite! She noticed the small mouse Featherpaw was eating. She took out a vole instead.  She ate the vole.
           "So..." Stonepaw said awkwardly. "How's Jackalpaw? He doesn't really talk to me..." She said. Featherpaw tensed.
           "G-Good..." Featherpaw retorted, nervously. Stonepaw nodded. They walked to the apprentice den. Stonepaw fell asleep ready to train with Stormheart and Harepaw.
