My name is Seaford. Seaford Arvas.
I was born in the small town of Cralbus, in the vast country of Ryvern.
My mother's name is Kiera and my father's, Meiin. My parents were one of the Agni Region's best men of combat. My mother was the country's head water mages, born in the Sama Kingdom, and a master of beauty and lethality. Somewhat of the same can go towards my father. He was one of the country's best swordsmen, who used just as lethal tactics as my mother, but his way of combat was more...traditional, in a sense. They met during one of their greatest expeditions in their time serving in the Region's military: the 3rd expedition to Mirvana, the unexplored northern country of the Region. While there, the two single-handedly killed Mirvana's biggest known threat to the rest of the Agni Region: the mythical falcon Zazabis. When they returned to the capital of the Region, Agni Metropolis, they immediately became legends, and were treated like royalty. But, they weren't very satisfied with having such a drastic change in everyone's opinion on them just for them killing a bird. This was combined with the fact that their friendship, and later, love for each other, was constantly taken out of consideration by the king of the Region, as he had given Meiin and Kiera their own separate harems against their will, and were unintentionally forced apart from each other. Until the day they both had enough. Kiera and Meiin had gone against the king's orders one night and met on the bridge that separated their dorms, and devised a plan to fake their deaths as a means of escaping their unwanted heaven.
One month later, Kiera and Meiin were found hung from the bridge they created their plan on. Only, it wasn't them. Kiera had created decoys of her and her lover out of water from a nearby lake and a small portion of their skin and blood. The citizens of Agni Metropolis believed the scheme so much that a funeral was held in the honor of the two dolls. This sorrow made the escape of the actual people the dolls symbolized extremely easy. They headed south, past the entire southern half of Agni, and almost the entirety of Ryvern, until they reached their new home, the small city-state of Crevalius, on the border between the volcanoes of Glomore and the mountains of Khelne. Crevalius was a lush, green valley, full of harmony between people and nature. Kiera and Meiin knew that the small town of Cralbus, right near the center of Crevalius, would be their perfect home.
Five years later, Kiera and Meiin became the parents of twins: my sister, Klarise, and me, Seaford.
Klarise and I had a nice, but difficult time growing up. Our parents had wanted us to follow in their footsteps since we were born (well, except for the marriage part), and had trained us in their ways since infancy. The only problem was what we were being trained to become.
My parents were pretty big on gender roles, and they believed that Klarise should not learn the art of swordsmanship, but insisted on her learning to become a mage. The opposite went for me. If we were born with the same ideas they had, we wouldn't have had a problem with that, but we did. Even though I'd grown quite accustomed to using a sword, I didn't like fighting with a weapon, and Klarise didn't like fighting without one. So, from the day after our 8th birthdays onward, we'd stay up and go to a nearby river to on train where no one could hear us. Klarise would teach me everything Mother taught her with the passing days, and I taught her everything Father taught me. For an entire decade, this continued, until we were basically masters of both spell and sword.
And, on that day. That oh, so fateful day. The day after our 18th birthdays, we were met with the biggest training test we could ever be given. War.
