Chapter 22

"So it's been you holding down the fort?" My dad asked.

"No." I said sternly. "Everyone's been doing something, I just bark orders"

"No you don't!" Mimi smiled.

"You bark at Chris mostly" Dani said.

"Yeah he's my partner" I said.

"And Tony and Mimi are my back seat drivers" Chris chuckled at his own joke. I watched as Ash zipped around while being chased by Leo and Tony.

"I'm glad you're out of you're lab!" I smiled.

"Heh, yeah. I realize I still have a life to live" He grumbled.

"Idiots" Chris shook his head. I pushed him slightly.

"You know you wanna go" I said smiling.

"I'm to mature for that mess"

"You just want to make a good impression on my dad. Go ahead I'll alert danger" I pushed him again and he was off.

"WAIT UP!" He screamed turning the corner.

Dani hovered right next to me. "Chris stole my Poptarts" She said.

"Talk to Chris about it" I said. "There is another box in my room because the great devourer took the rest"

"I'm actually impressed, Jamie. We are actually going to head out to see Thomas" My mom smiled.

"I'll come with you guys" I stood up. "Mimi!" I called. She poked her head out the lab.

"If you see Chris tell him I'm across from Ben!" I said.

She nodded and screamed for him as my mother teleported me out.

We stood in front of the door to his lair when out of the blue Ben came out of no where and tackled me.

"Jay!" He smiled squeezing me to death.

"Hi Benjamin" I said patting his fiery hair.

"Who's this?" My mom asked sweetly.

"Another one, it's bad enough she lives with 4 boys she knows 1 more" My father muttered under his breath.

"This is Ben, the twin of Chris"

He smashed his lips onto mine and I pushed him off quickly.

"What the hell are you doing" I whispered.

He looked at me confused "I'm sorry?"

"You can't just do that! What is wrong with you?" I pushed him away.

"Ouch." Ben smiled. "I just felt that we were drifting apart."

"Ben these are my parents" I glared hissing.

He glanced at my dad. "He doesn't look like he would care" He said grabbing me by his hands.

"But I care!"  I slipped his hands out of his.

"We're going to go on ahead. Please don't bring that drama with you." My dad said awkwardly pushing my mom

"Did you kiss Chris?" He asked glaring back at me. My face turned red.

"Did he tell you? He never can keep his mouth shut" I coughed a little bit.

"Shit!" He cursed. "What?" I said.

"He won the challenge" Ben laughed with a mischievous look on his face

"W-what challenge?" I glared.
