His voice was like knives to her heart. Just being in his presence killed her all over again. So, why was she here? She'd meant to go home, gear up and head out, but somewhere along the way, she'd ended up here. She should just go home. She should just turn around and go home. But she didn't. Her feet continued to carry her across the empty parking lot, continuing towards him, stroking the flames of rage inside her. It screamed and screeched, clawing at her insides, clenching her fists in rage. Her teeth ground together, her jaw tightening, her dark, stormy eyes narrowing in on him. His shaggy blonde hair. His blazing blue eyes. His muscular body, and the glare that could make football players piss their pants. Where the sudden burst of rage and confidence came from, she'd no clue. But she liked it. A lot. Her breathing sped up, her heart beat faster and faster, harder and harder, louder and louder. Soon, it thundered so loudly, she swore he could here it from where he stood.
She stopped about ten feet away. He stood, leaning against his sleek, black 1965 Corvette. She had a cherry red one. She attempted to calm her pounding heart and trembling hands, but failed. She tried to contain her burning rage, but failed. Her attempts only strokes and coaxed the flames bigger and louder, burning deep within her.
As if he sensed her, his body tensed and his head swiveled slowly and carefully, and once he's turned, he found her standing there, trembling with fury.
Then, suddenly, she realized where the rage had come from. He broke her, betrayed her, and worst of all, lied to her and played with her feelings for him. She wanted to return the favor. She wanted to make him hurt, like she did. Like she does.
Her long, dark hair flowed along with the wind, which was growing stronger and stronger, the once bright blue sky of hope, now a gray sheet of despair. Dark clouds scattered the sky, the sun gone completely, blanketed by a thick shroud of monstrous clouds. Thunder sounded in the background.
His head swung back and forth, bright blue eyes wild and wide with intense fear. He didn't realize what was doing it. Who was doing it. And, surprise, surprise, it was her. She had powers that no human mind could ever imagine. Her strongest emotions could make anyone or thing bend at her will.
She clenched her fists tighter then unfurled them. Slowly, she raised her arms at her sides, causing the ground to tremble and the thunderous noise grow louder and louder. It was then realization dawned on him.
She smiled savagely, showing all of her pearly white teeth. She laughed, but it came out as more of a cracked cackle. He began to breath heavily, eyes darting wildly, hair flying in the wind like a whip, body rigid and stiff with tension.
He said something but the thunder had grown more and more loud, causing whatever he'd said not to carry and sound. She assumed he'd said something pathetic like an apology or asking for forgiveness. But after what he'd done, she could never forgive him.
She wanted him gone. She always gets what she wants. Always. And she had a feeling that this time, it was definite.
