Chapter 3

I have been in the glade for two months. I've made lots of friends Minho, Newt, Frypan, Chuck the greenie after me, Alby sort of.
I was happy when I found out my job was being a runner, it's what I wanted.
The new greenie is meant to be coming soon, this month I'm helping Chuck out with the greenie, since last month I was in charge of Chuck.
"Liz...Liz!" I hear someone say lifting me from my thoughts.
"Huh.. Sorry what" I say
"Are you ok? I've been trying to get your attention for a couple of minutes, you just zoned out" Newt says.
"Yeah, I'm okay" I reply as I continue working on the gardens.
When I'm not running I'm working as a track hoe, because I don't run everyday, I run most days, but today I'm not because of the new greenie coming up.
I enjoy both of my jobs.
After about an hour of planting new seeds I hear an alarm and instantly know it's the greenie alarm, who wouldn't, except Chuck because he was the last greenie.
The trip takes about half an hour for then to get here but we always wait at the box for that time.
I run over to the box and stand next to Newt.
"Hey Newt, um...sorry I ignored you earlier, I was just thinking" I say to him.
"Well I do suppose that being the only bloody girl can get you thinking sometimes" he replies in his British accent, that I absolutely love.
"To be honest, I don't even know what I was thinking about" I say watching the box waiting for the shuck greenie.
When your friends with a lot of people you have a lot of people to talk to so the half an hour waiting for the greenie goes really quick.
When the elevator comes up the doors open and Gally jumps down to greet the new guy.
"Day one greenie, rise and shine" he says.
After a short time Gally pulled the greenie out of the box and he was grown to the ground.
The greenie quickly stands spins in circles like he's crazy, pushes through the crowd and makes a run for it.
"We got a runner" Zart yells, it's the only thing I can understand out of everything that is being said.
I keep my eyes on the greenie, and he trips over his own feet and face plants the ground. Everyone laughs.
I watch him stand up and some of us keep shouting. He has noticed the huge walls surrounding us.
Alby sends me running after him, once I get about a metre away from him I say "take it all in greenie, this is your home now".
I grab him and give him to the Baggers who will take him to the pit.
Now to wait for the gathering, to decide his fate.

So I wanted this chapter to be longer but I needed to give you guys a chapter.

I know I said I would reread the book so I could add more book parts but I can't be bothered for this one, I will for the scorch trials though.
I just have so many other books to read like the 100 series
And I want to read the divergent series before it comes out in April (yes in Australia it comes out in April)
I will try and update again soon
