"Ok tomorrow at 5. Got it." I said into my my gold iPhone. "See you then, bye Sarah." Sarah is one of my two best friends. She and I just planned to go roller skating tomorrow with a bunch of friends. It's all part of our goal to not have a boring summer. Oh yeah today was our first official day of summer. And by official I mean no school.
I put down my phone and went down stairs. I walked into the living room to find Luke (my 9 year old brother) sitting on the couch flipping through Netflix. "Hey, where's mom?" I asked jumping on to the couch next to him. "In her office." Of course. I love my mom, but she is always working. "Thanks." I called out while walking towards her office. When I walked in I saw her typing away on her computer. My mom publishes books for a living so she is either on her computer or at work. That's why her and my step-dad split. "Hey mom whatcha doing?" " oh you know just working." She said as she spun around in her desk chair. "I have to email this lady about some children's book she thinks I should publish, but it's just not good enough." "Oh ok well I'm going to go out for a bit I just wanted to let you know." "Well thanks sweetheart have fun, oh and don't be to long we are going to have dinner in about 2 hours." "Got it. Love you" "Love you too."
