Chapter 2

Chapter 2:

I woke up to a dim light that hit my closed eye lids. Since my room faced where the sun rises I got the sun full on in the morning. "Well now I know that I need to ask my mom and dad for some curtains." I smiled to myself.
Getting up off my bed I decided to change into sweats and pale green shirt and went down the stairs. Looking out the backyard French doors I saw splatters of rain.
"Wow it's still raining I'm never going to get over this." I laughed to myself. I opened the doors and walked out into the light drizzle of the rain. Walking out the rain hit my face softly like mist. The smell from yesterday's rain filled my nose and tingled all threw my body filling me with peace, and warmth. The placed I lived before was hot. Always in the high 90's. It rarely rained, you would always sweat and feels sticky and made you feel uncomfortable. But here, here it was the polar opposite and I loved it. My legs moved without me telling them to. I felt this strong pull towards the forest and the trees and the enchanted look it held. Closing my eyes I let my body take full control and take me. I knew I'd reached the forest when it became dark on the outside of my lids.
After a while I slowed to a stop and opened my eyes. And here I was standing in front of the door that led to the underground basement. "This place is seriously creeping me out! I need to get out of here." I turned and ran back to the house.
Once I was in the house I was hit with the smell of pancakes, waffles, eggs, bacon, toast, and my ultimate favorite blueberry muffins. "Hey mom!" I ran and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek the breakfast looks so good." With that I stole a piece of bacon off the plate. "Hey dad! I gave him a hug and kiss on the cheek as well. " I was worried that something might have happened to you guys on your way home it was pouring so bad."
My dad gasped," You didn't believe that your dad didn't know how to drive in the rain, that hurt that really hurt." He then laughed," You forget honey that your mother and I were born here, asinweknowhowthisweatherislikeand howtodriveinit."
My mother began to laugh," Okay honey take a deep breath," and she turned to look at me," go get changed and then you can get some breakfast before school. Now hurry up you are not going to be late on your first day of school! Oh and by the way where did you get that necklace I don't remember you ever having that I would have remembered it's so beautiful."
Looking down I saw the necklace that I had put in my drawer in my desk I gasped and whispered," How did this get on me."
"What was that Quinn?" my mother asked.
I looked up," Oh I found it this morning when I went for a walk in the forest." I smiled at her.
"Oh well thats a beautiful necklace and it goes so well with you. Oh I know we are so going to take you shopping to get something beautiful for that necklace! Yes, that's exactly what we'll do!"
I looked at my dad, with my eyes basically saying, no pleading to kill me before that shopping trip which he only laughed at me for.
My mom suddenly shouted," Oh Quinn we can get a dress that matches the necklace for the annual masked ball that the Volkov's throw every year!"
"Who are the Volkov's?" I asked my mom.
"Oh, that's Jonathan, Deanne, and Xavier honey." She smiled.
"What the heck they through a ball every years thats just... I'm not going to finish that sentence. Im just going to go change." I shook my head as I left the kitchen how in the word do those people through a ball every year is beyond me, and who wants to go every year? Not me thats who.
Walking into my room the first thing I did was take off that necklace and put it back into that drawer, then I got dressed in some dark blue skinny jeans, a black long sleeve, a grey knit cardigan, with some black leather boots that went halfway up my calf and no heel. I applied my makeup with only mascara and some eyeliner finishing the look with some light lipgloss. When I was done I went down the stairs to eat.
Walking into the doorway I sat at the island bar for the all you can eat breakfast my mom had made. rubbing my hands together I began to hastily grab everything from eggs to five blueberry muffins, and maybe ten pieces of bacon, not counting the one I ate earlier. When I was halfway done with my food I heard a booming laugh come from the doorway of the kitchen, it was my dad and he had his phone out recording me eating like a pig. "DAD YOU BETTER DELETE THAT OR ELSE!" I glared at him.
"Or else what pumpkin?" He tried to contain his laughter.
Glaring I got up from the bar stuck out my tongue at him then went to my car but not with out my dad yelling.
"Have a good day pumpkin tell all the boys also that if they touch you in any way that your daddy will be there and beat them to a pulp!" he yelled happily from inside the house.
Well my dad sure is THAT dad, you know the one who can always joke around but then be completely protective the next yup, thats mine. Rolling my eyes I went inside my car and rolled my eyes oh gosh my family is one of a kind.
When I reach the school I just looked at it. For this town being small their school was beautiful. I had that Hogwarts look to it thats how amazing it was. I pulled in to the parking lot and found a space that wasn't too close or too far from the entrance I just wanted to blend into the crowd. Walking out of the car I grabbed my bag and headed to the office. What seemed to surprised me most about this school is that even though it was a mini Hogwarts there wasn't any need for uniforms which I was a little sad, about At my old school it made it so much easier to bland in since everyone would wear the same thing, but hear if you messed up and wore something out there you'd definitely stand out.
Opening the office door I saw the front desk lady typing away on her computer at the speed of light. I walked up to her desk and read her name which read, Patty Mason. Patty looked up at me and gave a small smile and handed me some papers. I looked at her," Aren't you going to ask what my name is?"
She smiled bigger," Sweetie it's not everyday we get new students I think I know when we get a new student and when theres a new face I know who it is." She laughed a little. "But for your sake let me guess your name is Quinn Amatore?" She looked up at me.
"Yes, that's my name." I looked at her with a raised brow. "Well thank you Patty for my schedule."
"It's Mrs. Mason to you Miss. Amatore." She scolded me but I just laughed and left the office to find my locker and then to my first class. As I found my locker I put everything in there except for my notebook and a pen. The chatter around me stopped completely and went dead silent. Closing my locker to see what had happened. Looking around I found the source of everyones quietness, it was Xavier. I looked at him straight in the eye and glared at him. Everyone in the hallway gasped and looked at me with horrified expressions. Leaving his returning glare at me I looked around at everyone. "Is there a reason as to why all of you are looking at me like that?" There was a pause and no one answered. "No one wants to answer me?" I raised my eyebrow. "Well then I suggest that all of you turn around and mind your own business. Looking back at Xavier I glared at him and looked him up and down. I rolled my eyes and walked away to my first period which thank The Lord it was in the opposite direction of him. And I walked down the hallway everyone looked at me with wide eyes. Turning at the end of the hallway I saw I guy who had such familiar eyes, I'd seen them before, they were green and held an evil glint. I gasped at him, it was an older version of that young boy in the picture I saw in the basement. Looking at him with wide eyes I was frozen in my spot. He looked at me with his eyes and smirked at him and then like a lion going after its prey he began to walk towards me.
It felt like ages frozen for him to get right in front of me, and I was still stuck into place. He then opened his mouth," Can I help you beautiful?" he spoke with a voice that was like velvet soft and yet very firm. I didn't reply I still stood frozen in my spot. "Cat got your tongue beautiful?" he smirked at me.
"I-i-i-I know you... but how, why..." I stuttered out my voice lacking all the confidence I once held when I was talking to the people in the hallway.
"Shhhh.... don't worry beautiful there's no need to stutter or be afraid." His eyes began to glow a darker emerald green. I swallowed and closed my eyes.
"I need to get to class" I whispered. Which to my whisper he gave a low chuckle.
"I'll walk you to your first class since we both have it together," his breath fanned my face.
"I opened my eyes and took a step back. "That won't be necessary." I looked at him. " How do you know I have first period with you?"
He smirked," Everyone has their secrets beautiful. Best that you keep those secrets to and don't ask the people here any questions."
"I-i, what do you mean not ask any of the people here?" I looked at him confused. Which all he gave me was a smirk and walked into the classroom that was on the left of me.
The bell rang signaling that everyone needs to be in class. So I followed the boy with the evil emerald eyes.
Walking into the classroom I noticed there were three empty seats one would obviously be occupied by me. When I looked at the seats I saw that it was all in the back row and one of them was next to emerald eyes. So I went to the seat farthest away from and next to the window. And yet again I heard people gasp, I was so tired of people gasping is that these people know how to do is gasp for goodness sakes people learn something else! I thought to myself. After that thought I heard a loud laugh. I looked and saw emerald eyes laughing like he had heard my thoughts. Then I thought did he really read my thoughts? Peering at him through the corner of my eye I saw him smirk and wink at me.
Baffled by him winking at me and the shock that he probably just read my mind I looked up at the front of the classroom. And low and behold Xavier stood there with his infamous glare, but he had someone at his side and he looked oddly familiar as if I'd known him or seen him a while back but younger and I couldn't put my finger on it. Xavier's muscular build came walking down the isle of desks till he was in front of my mine.
"Get. Out. Of. My. Desk." he spoke with the sexiest voice I've ever heard. It was sexy masculine deep commanding. I felt like I was melting at the sound of his voice. "Did you not hear me are you deaf or something? I said get out of my desk."
I looked at him and glared and was about to open my mouth when I heard emerald eyes speak.
"Come sit next to me beautiful I'll make it worth you while." he purred the last part. Looking up at Xavier and his emerald eyes I got up to sit next to emerald eyes since at least he wasn't being an A-hole. As I got up and grabbed my stuff I was grabbed and pushed back into the desk by a shaking Xavier. When he touched me all I felt was sparks fly through my arm and I jumped up and out of my seat.
"What the heck you just shocked me and you-you shoved me that was so uncool!" I glared at him and walked towards emerald eyes. When I looked at emerald eyes he had a smirk, but I looked back at Xavier and he looked at me with ten times more anger then before. His friend came up to him and whispered something which made Xavier calm down. I shook my head and kept walking to emerald eyes until I was seated in the desk next to him. He looked at me and smirked, and gave a smug smirk to Xavier.
"The name's Marcellus." He put his hand out.
"I'm Quinn," I put my hand out to shake but he grabbed my hand and kissed it.
"Pleasure to meet you Quinn." He smirked at me, shocked I withdrew my hand from his and nodded.
"Nice to meet you to," I mumbled. After that I heard a fist hit a desk and turned to see Xavier shaking with fury as he looked between Marcellus and I. With that Xavier left the classroom with his friend following him, but before he left he looked at me with questioning in his eyes. I sighed today was just interesting and it has only been first period.
I closed my eyes and had my hands rubbing my temples I just want today to be over with. I just want to go home and lay down and maybe get some actual sleep. I groaned and put my head on the desk.
A few moments later I felt someone poke me on my arm. I looked up and saw Marcellus. "What do you want."
He shrugged,"Well if you hadn't noticed but class is over and we got second period to go to."
"We? What do you mean by we?" I looked at him.
"We as In WE have the same second period and WE need to leave before WE are late to OUR next class." he shook his head at me but smirked amused. "Aw is someone scared that her little boyfriend will get more jealous?" he cooed.
"What boyfriend can I have a boyfriend first." I looked at him with my are you dumb face.
He played along," Oh you know Xavier the one who left the classroom so angrily when I kissed you little hand."
I groaned. "He is not my boyfriend he is a rude, obnoxious jerk face that has anger problems." I scoffed at the end. " I don't think I'd date a guy who would treat me like crap and be rude all the time."
Marcellus smirked. "Good to hear beautiful, good to hear." With that he put his arm over my shoulder and walked us to our next class.
Second period went by fast I didn't mind at all I was just glad that it was lunch time and that I could eat. Marcellus and I walked to the lunch room and waited in line for lunch.
"I can't believe you're actually going to eat this crap, how do you even know if they use real food or not!" Marcellus just scowled at his tray with disgust.
"Well I didn't say you had to come and get the lunch you decided that for yourself so don't blame me for "making" you buy this lunch, because I didn't you bought it all on your own, so now you're going to shut up and eat like a good little boy." I nodded my head proud that I spoke up to him like I did.
"Oh feisty now are we?" He smirked. "I like this side of you it's hot if you ask me, and not on a flirty note, you seem relaxed around me now and thats good because everyone needs to be cool around their hot sexy boyfriend." He smirked at me and wiggled his eyebrows at me.
"You're such a gentlemen." I said sarcastically. "I'd love to just eat this horrible pizza that has, I don't even know if it's real cheese, in peace." I looked at Marcellus and poked out my tongue at him.
He laughed a genuine laugh,"Hey why don't we just walk to the little diner around the corner of the school, they actually serve amazing food if i do say so myself. You in? I mean we got forty-five minutes left. Why not go it's not that far."
"I don't know... I don't feel safe walking off campus." I looked at him warily.
He saw my worried look," hey I'll be there to protect you, I like you and I don't like many people so I'll protect from all the little monsters out there beautiful. I guarantee it." He looked at me with truth in his eyes and I sighed.
"Okay, Okay I'll go with you, but on one condition." I held up one finger.
"What's your condition beautiful?" He looked at me with a scared look.
"You give me a piggy back ride all the way there!" I smiled brightly at him.
Marcellus groaned." Really, you want a piggy back ride all the way there! That's so far!"
"Ah nope, no piggy back ride then no going to get food, I'd make your decision fast or by the time you make up your mind it'll be to late and lunch will be over." I looked at him with a smirk.
"Ugh you're killing me smalls!" He looked at me and rolled his eyes. "Fine common hop on my back lets go."
I laughed," YES! LET'S GO!" I jumped onto his back and I could feel him rolling his eyes as we were walking out of the lunchroom. As we left the lunchroom we ran into Xavier's friend. When he saw us and he glared at me with fury. I just looked at him with a raised eyebrow as if to ask what's wrong with you. Instead he decided to glare more harshly at me.

"Something wrong? If not why don't you just step out of our way or I'll make you." Marcellus growled at him.
"If you know what your life means to you then I suggest you put her down or else." Xavier's sidekick said to Marcellus.
"Was that supposed to be? A threat?" Marcellus said with smart tone in his voice, which made the sidekick even more angry.
"I'm hungry and I want to have my lunch before my last class so you," I pointed to the sidekick,"sidekick boy need to mind your own business I'm hungry and my friend Marcellus is taking me to get a good lunch so now if you could step aside we will be on our way." I glared at him and Marcellus began to break down laughing while I just made the sidekick shocked.
"You called him a sidekick! That's the best thing I've ever heard!" Marcellus laughed.
"Did you just call me a sidekick?" The sidekick said at the same time as Marcellus.
"Yes, I did now MOVE!" I yelled go Marcellus go lets just get out of here.
"You mean ditch school?" He asked amused.
"Aw is someone a goody goody." I laughed and patted him on the shoulder.
"One never call me a goody goody because I'm not and two lets go." He walked out the front of the school with me still on his back.
"Walk me to my car and we can have an adventure!" I made a little happy dance on his back.
" I have a bike so I'll take my motorcycle and you can just follow me." He placed me down on the floor where I told him where my car was.
"Okay sounds good lets just make our first stop about food." I looked up at him and pointed my finger.
He chuckled and then walk to his motorcycle.
