School was out for the year and summer had finally arrived.
Me and Nick spent a lot of time together we went to church together even though I never agreed with what they said about God. We went to movies and bowling and stuff like that,But neither of us ever said it was a date, because it wasn't we were "just friends."He very cautiously brings God into almost every conversation we have. Honestly I didn't mind that much usually, but today I did.
Today it was 1 year. 1 year since my brothers death,1 year since I killed him.We were walking outside by the fence that surrounds his family's property when we stopped by a small pond and sat on the fence.
We were talking about one of his friends that I had met the first day at school,
Tyler. Apparently he had had a car accident and the car was completely wrecked. The metal was twisted and bent around the drivers seat but he was fine, he barely had a scratch on him."God really protected him." Nick said.
"Yeah,sure."
He looked over at me. "You can't tell me that that was just a coincidence. The car was completely destroyed but he barely had a scratch on him.
How could that be anything but God?""If that's true Nick how does he choose? How does God who can save the whole entire world without even saying a single word choose who to save? If God is really what you make him out to be, someone who can save everyone, he is heartless and cruel. He can save the whole world but he chooses to let them die. Even when they love him with all there hearts even when they serve him with everything within them. He lets them die." I was mad and in tears now and Nick was staring at me with concern in his widened eyes. "He takes them away. He takes everyone.....away......from me. How can you say he is a loving God?"
