Kaia didn't know what to do or how to react to this. This sudden transformation was just all too overwhelming for her. Standing before her was a six foot one monster, hair all over his face, claws replaced from where his nails have been just seconds ago, fangs for teeth. Before this, he looked like any normal boy would. He had these bright blue eyes that were as deep as the ocean, wavy brown hair that was slightly pushed off to the side. Now his eyes were glowing a bright yellow while he grew more hair on the sides of his face than any boy should.
She stepped back from him when he came closer to her. She wasn't sure how she should feel about this, if she should run away terrfied or stand her ground. He was always so harmless, but in this form, she wasn't sure about that anymore. "I-Isaac?" she stuttered as he kept coming closer to her. His breathing was getting heavy, his eyes growing narrow as they just glared at her. "Isaac, please s-stop. You're scaring me." And as if her words had gotten to him, he stopped where he was.
"I-I'm sorry, Kai," he apologized, his tone of voice soft. His eyes weren't able to meet hers after finally revealing the secret he had been keeping from her all this time. He thought it was time to let her in after all the times he's screwed up because of what he was hiding. He only chose to keep this from her because he didn't want to be putting her life in any sort of danger. He wouldn't know what to do if the girl he loved had anything bad happen to her because she knew what he was.
Kaia watched as Isaac slowly started transforming back into his normal state. The hairs across his face, the ones on his arms and hands started to disappear, the colors of his eyes had gone back to normal, and the claws and fangs were gone. It was like he had never turned into a werewolf. She still couldn't believe that for the last few months she was actually dating this creature, this animal. "How long have you been this way?" Kaia wanted to know.
"Since last year. Derek turned me," Isaac responded. He wanted her to know as much as possible, so she'd feel comfortable about this whole situation. "He found me at my weakest point and helped me out."
She scoffed out loud, almost laughing at the same time. "So he thought turning you into a damn animal would help you out?" Kaia shouted. "Normal people get help by going to see a shrink or doctor or something, not by having the resident freak show turn you into werewolf!" She very well knew who Derek was and she always thought there was something off about him, and now she knew what it was. How could Isaac even go along with something like that and be okay with it? Now she had to wonder how many else of her friends were werewolves, too.
Isaac felt himself getting worked up. "He helped me, Kaia and if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't even be here right now. I would rather be this than go back to being scared every single day of my life. I know you don't get it, but you have to understand that this was the right choice for me."
Kaia honestly didn't understand Isaac's choice to be okay with being a werewolf. She wish she could understand, for his sake. "I don't think I can, Isaac," she said, shaking her head. "I wish I could, but I can't and I'm sorry." She let out a small sigh and looked directly at him, the first real eye contact they've had since he showed her what he was. She had a decision to be made and it wasn't a very easy one to make, but this was just all too much for her to process.
"I can't do this anymore, Isaac," Kaia spat out.
His eyes grew big, his jaw opening widely. "What do you mean, Kaia? A-Are you breaking up with me? Because if you are, please don't. We can get through this, I can fix us. Just--"
"I'm sorry, but I've made up my mind. This is just too much for me, but just know that I do love you." She stood toe to toe with the taller figure and stood on her tiptoes, her lips pressing against his cheek. She gave him one last smile before walking away from the first boy she's fallen in love with.
